Regarding Quicksands coffer key.

I went to Quicksands earlier today (the entrance near Korroloka) in hope of getting a coffer key. My party and I were slaughtering every ant, beetle, and spider in sight for 2 and a half hours with not one drop. So my question is, was I at the right place, killing the right mobs? Thanks.

Make sure you go into the entrance of Quicksands cave through the 2nd desert (one with Rabao entrance)

Just leveling off helm beatles a key dropped in about an hour. I've heard key drops much faster here then at Quicksands entrances on 1st desert side.

Through the Rabao side you seem to get drops more often. I got two keys there before. The first time everyone lotted on it when only I needed it -.- And someone else got it, BLM I think that doesn't even need the AF coffer. I got mine the second time there.
