I'm a Drk, and I can usually get away with looking sexy over having the most "up to date" or "best" equipment for my level. To me looks > stats for the most part except weaponwise. this is why i wore bone armor to 21 then beetle - centurion.

Outside of PT I go for style...but once I get into a PT it's function all the way.

Dragoon AF has to be the best looking / functioning AF armor around. It looks fantastically unique, and some of the Abilities it gives (Wyvren +10% hp, Wyvren Regen, Wyvren breath attacks) are sensational. If I had it, i wouldnt take it off, ever.

Would I pick fashion over function? Every single time.

I would prefer to mismatch armor sets then to wear a whole one. Like in Valkrum, everyone wears scale mail, Qufim everyone wears bone and beetle. (*_*)

I'm considering keeping my Beetle mask instead of upgrading to Centurion Visor simply because I like my bone mask alot more. It all comes down to preference. And no matter how vain this sounds, I refuse to wear frichen fugly armor. (>.<)

In some games, yes I would sacrafice function for fashion...FFXI is NOT one of them.

Stats are just too damn important in this game and they mean too much to waste them just to look cool. You'll see me wearing whatever has the best dex, accuracy, and attack for my level.

You don't get party invites based on how you look.

No contest for me, Looks is way over Stats in my priority list.

I dont wanna go around killin dragons when I look like I just got shat out of one, I wanna look like a bad ass, etc..

For me it adds some fun into the game.

Right now, at level 32 I definitely don't look as well armored or as cool as the other DRGs in Centurion scale armor, but I do have a +2 dex and +3 attack advantage with my merc. cpt. doublet, merc. cpt. visor and bastokian subligar. For me, that's very important. It's not likely I would upgrade my armor for quite a while, unless the defense gap gets much too high to ignore.

Then again, I'm here to do damage, not to look cool, and certainly not to tank...
