I know most people tell you to go for a pure melee combo but I'm thinking about subbing dragoon with white mage once I get it. So I was going to start leveling my white mage now. I was wondering is it really worth it? I mean I thought it'd be better to sub whitemage since the dragoons can't take much damage, this could allow me to heal ,yself. Good or bad combo?

I don't know if it is a good combo or not because I don't have the game. But I am also thinking of going either DRG/WMG or DRG/RMG. I say try it for awhile, doesnt work well change. I have given up hope on listen to what other people tell me to be. One person says do this it is the best combo others say do this it is better. I guess it depends on what you want to do also. IE soloing, grouping to level, grouping to help newbs.

Whm sub on most melee is only till about level 12 when you can start joining PTs after that you need to use warrior sub or be ready to spend a lot of time alone.

Come on, you make it sound like absolutely no one will party with you if you not powergaming. Exactly how much % more damage does warrior sub give over whm? If it's like over 75%, then I can understand, but if not, then it's not that big a factor.

Because you won[t get invited, unless they are desperate. It's a worthless sub unless you are soloing, really.

I know I'm not as far along as most of the people replying, but I have not had any problems finding parties subbing whm with Drg. The dragon cures with me sometimes, and it can be a real life saver. Plus, having any status effects removed when u use a w.s. is pretty nice too...

I've noticed on my server at this point in the game that most people are happy to get whom ever they can in their party. Areas like Qufim are a little to crowded, and people are mostly looking for someone that knows how to play with maturity. But that's at the point of the game I'm at.

Sure, subbing a WHM is better than subbing nothing. I agree with that. But why sell yourself short? There's much better choices around. I mean, it's always nice to be able to have more utility but Dragoon is about pure damage, not support.
