TaruTaru Dragoon - Cobalt? help please!

Right now I am a taru thief, but I really am wanting to go Taru Dragoon,
What are the Pros and Cons of a Taru Dragoon?

What Subjob? Should I switch to warrior, get that to 30 then make Dragoon/War or is Dragoon/Thief ok, I am sortta afraid of Dragoon/Thief because being Taru, thats really low hp.

What would my role in a party be as a draggon?

Well im going DRG/THF and it seems its actually a good combo, as for the taru part i dont know considering im not taru and im not drg.
Generally you would be a damage dealer just like a thief would. You wouldnt take because we cant take hit as well as WARs or PLDs.
The WAR sub ill give you extra STR,VIT, and a higher HP boost, but with the thief combo you get DEX which will help the accuracy, agi because you cant take hits so why not dodge them ^^, then with TH you can be a rich DRG^^(not as rich as a regular 70/35 THF/? with TH2)

Taru Dragoon

I'm thinking of making a Taru dragoon too... but with a Black mage as sub... Not sure if this is good? Hopefully it's not a suicidal build....

There is no reason to sub Black Mage to Dragoon. If you want to use Black Magic while being a damage dealing melee class be a Dark Knight.

With any sort of caster subbed to DRG (or any melee class, for that matter), you're going to have a pitifully small manapool, even as a Taru.

It's doable, sure. See the thread about DRG/RDM (it's in here somewhere...) as an example. You'd have to rely on juice alot, and spend your mana carefully. And you'd be more of a shock troop than a pure all out attacker. But I suppose it could work.

You'd be better off going with a melee sub though, to be honest.
As Taru, our Str/Dex is kinda hurting anyways (well, Str for sure), so a sub that helps fix that is a good idea. War or Sam work. Thief might be good too, for the added dex (you won't hit as hard, but you'd be a bit more accurate and crit more).

Since Dragoons aren't the main tank (or shouldn't be), your HP pool isn't a huge concern. So Taru could definitely work.

+Str / dex / accuracy / atk items will win the day though.

Dex means nothing. A Taru Taru will still need Sniper rings or he wont hit anything.

Tarus highest stat is INT, then AGI, not DEX.

Well, I meant in comparison to the other races. Tarus' still have more than hume or elvaan, if I remember right...

You are, I don't understand why many thinks that Taru sucks in every melee stats. They suck in HP, STR, VIT and surprise, MND, the others are either average or above average. Sheesh.

no no don't get me wrong, i guess i misunderstood you. taru make kickass thf, but its funny how their int is still higher lol.
