About Jump and other questions

First off i would like a little description of pro and con to dragoon, i know its a common topic but i can never hear enough opinions =)

now, i noticed that L2 and 3 jump have to duration and no timer, is this true that you can jump like a maniac with no penalty? and what exactly does jump do? increase damage?

someone please give me some kind of idea what its like to play this class, also are the wyverns effective at high level? and what all can they do?
