Question About Sub Jobs On DRG and in GENERAL.

Hi, My plan is to be a Elvaan DRG with THF/SAM as my main sub jobs...now my question about the sub jobs applies to every sub job...So heres my question...Okay so i get a Sub-Job...Lets say that Im a level 70 Dragoon, and the sub-job can only be half of what your Main job is right, so it would only be 35...So does that mean it's useless to level THF and SAM for me to any point beyond the LVL cap for the sub job?...If so then why does using SAM apparently get really good a sub for DRG at level 60 if you are only able to be at level 35 for your sub...Sorry this is really confusing to me too.....

So basically i should only level thief and samurai to the cap of the sub job levels?

At level 30 Samurai has a ability called Silent Concentration. It builds the tp guage up. Lvl 60 would be the earliest a main job could make use of it, I believe.

And you may decide you want to do those jobs as a main sometime, or perhaps they will raise the level cap above 70.. Either are decisions to raise above 35.

so the cap on sub jobs is 35 ( but you can go higher than that i know but the skills wouldnt be useful as a sub?) basically right now? And do you yourself have a character level? or just a job level(s)?

There are only job levels. And only the main job will gain levels.

For example if you get war to 20 and thief to 5 and then try to change jobs again you can either be a war 20, thf 5, mnk 1, blm 1, rdm 1.

And the subjob will never be more than half rounded down of the main job. The reason 70/35 is highest is because the lvl cap now is at 70 and your sub can never be more than half.

If you do the subjob quest you can be a war/thf 20/5, a war/mnk 20/1 , or a thf/war 5/2, or a thf/ rdm 5/1 or a blm/whm 1/1, etc. You can swap your levels at the mog house in town and unless you die allot your levels will stay the same as you swap.

And as I said only the mainjob gains levels so you will have to level the subs as your main, since a 60/30 is stronger than a 60/5 or whatever.

As for your other thread thf gives more dex while war gives more pow.

Myself I want to try drg/thf sometime for dex and treasure hunting but if I am not doing enough damage then I will try drg/war.

Its all up to you, but im choosing THF for the DEX, im sick of my wyvern getting the hate and getting killed cuz i miss so much
