Dragoon mounts... what are there limitations?

This might be a dumb question, but out of towns, can you ride your mount anywhere you want in the world? or are there limitations as to where you can fly/if you can fly..

The wyvern cannot be mounted. It simply follows along side you. It however doesn't follow you into town. Also when you mount a Chocobo it will fly away.

The thought of a galka mounting a wyvern however makes me smile.

Im pretty sure that as of now there is now ways for dragoons to mount any kind of dragons, but that would be awesome. Nice change from using the airship
