Does anyone know where would be the best place for a DRK to solo @ 69? I'd rather get a little exp than no exp while I wait for my invite

Re: Places to Solo
You're looking for crabs. Easy to Drain and Aspir, and comes with TP moves which aren't too deadly. You may even be able to sleep them in a pinch.
Start with EP; you should be able to hand DC or even EM eventually, I'm guessing. Keep in mind you should have a different setup than for normal exp party. ( /WHM for Reraise, Erase, Regen; enfeebling and defense gear; etc.)

Re: Places to Solo
Dont forget about Beetles. They also have weak TP moves, can be aspir and drain.
Before Campaign/Campaign Ops, I just use a website to find either Beetles, Crabs, and sometimes worms(careful with worms because they have a silence TP move) that are a little lower than my level. I usually test the mobs with my NPC(fierce attacker) until he leaves to see how hard the mobs are or fine some that are close to a zone. I had a few cases where I needed to turn my back until my NPC got hate so I could run to zone.PSN ID: Kelshan

Re: Places to Solo
Between Crabs/Beetles and Worms, Worms should be a lot easier. No TP moves that would need to be dispelled in any way, Gastric Bomb, Sandspin and Tremors can be Erased if needed, and as BLM (sometimes RDM) mobs, they have horrible VIT and no Defense Bonuses (as opposed to Crabs and Beetles being PLD/PLD and having great VIT and all of PLD's Defense Bonuses.)
Just make sure you stay within attack range at all times so you don't eat a Stonega III.

Re: Places to Solo
And make sure to bring Echo Drops with ya if you DO solo worms, silence can be nasty.
I'd probably be tempted to go with Crabs myself if I were you. Most crab exp areas that I know of are near an outpost, making it easier to and from there. I don't know what dark knight solo is like but I'd imagine you could handle the crabs in what is it, Valley of Sorrow? That area after Kuftal Tunnel with crabs and gobs and raptors and stuff.
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.
I don't have a big ego, it just has a large mouth.

Re: Places to Solo
Finding a party as a DRK at level 48 is a nightmare. I work the odd hours so my play time is during Japanese prime time, and on my server, they either have statics going or go JP only...(I can't believe some still do that...)
Anyhoo, I'm grinding on East Altelpa Sand Beetles right now. 25-35xp per kill, but I'm the only one there and at the rate I clear the last beetle, the first ones already popped again. No down time with bloody bolts, drain and aspir. Subbing THF to get in the SA start and evasion bonus is nice. They miss me 70%ish of the time. After about 2hours of doing this, I got about 2.2k of XP. That's without my Emperor Ring effect on...it was my first time trying it tonight and I wanted to see how it went without the ring.
After these beetles become to low to get xp, I'll head over to Garliage beetlesLast edited by skoreanime; 07-15-2008, 04:22 AM.
