It's very good. I went for that other one though, the +5 STR +5 AGI and increases critical strikes. I've been crit'ing every 3 hits so far on average, some of them uber big ones (300sh)

Yeah it a good set of armor, no doubt. But its super hard to het, and in the end, just not worth the time or effort for a crafter to mass produce. Haubergeon, on the otherhand, is easily made from materials you can gather normally. The only person I have seen on Fairy server with this armor is President, he made the set himself.

IMO, SE is makeing a patch job of FFXI by adding all this armor that is nearly impossiable to obtain/useless. Never taking anything out or chainging, just adding stuff on top of everything that is there already. Ever look at the AH armor list and see so many useless pieces of armor? That has to hurt crafters, not to mention the variety of the game.3
keepin' it real for the peeps...

There are alot of good armour sets that just aren't used often enough by players because of the mentality the general populous has. If you're a certain job at any particular level everyone the same job as you will all have the same gear. When was the last time you saw anybody wearing a studded set at level 30 or a Cuir set in the mid 30s? Both are reasonable sets and can be bought from NPCs.

One of the reasons I want my mythril +1 set (and the Luisant set too but thats mainly for stats) is that you hardly ever see someone wearing them. Yes I'll have better armour to wear when I party but just for doing random stuff, helping people, quests, sitting in a town chatting or lfp I would like to stand out from the crowd. This is one of the main reasons I would rather run around town naked than wear my rdm af, everyone is wearing it, even idiots that should never of made it past level 30.

Yes I'm one of those people who removes a helmet when chatting to people, I just see it as being polite but I'm definatly not the type to run around making sure that everyone checks me as often as possible so they can see my "1337ness".

One of my other reasons for wanting the mythril +1 set is that I don't think any self-respecting drk should wear the I.M set. I mean its got paladin written all over it (literally in the case of my friends custom set I did for him). It offers no good stats for a drk unless you're spamming bloody bolts.

Your right about the IM set, the only part I ever wore was the head.

I was wearing Birgadine (I think) until level 55, for RK Chainmail.

Yes, your right that drk should NOT wear IM set, just because its all shiny and paladin-esq. I totally agree.

However, given the choice between running through town naked, and in rdm AF, I would chose the AF, for the same reason you take your helmet off when chatting.

Maybe I was a little to harsh when I said "Useless", but how many people out there wear Raptor mantles and Studded armor? not many, and I don't think its because of the mentality of the players. There is better armor out there at that level, and players will always wear things because of stats, not looks.

btw, imo, Haubergeon looks like ass :3
