  • Relic Scyth

I've heard many crazy stories about how to obtain it, I'm just trying to get a general view of what the public knows, I've also heard you must do the quest only as a Dark Knight to obtain it, and a few other special items purchased at the Auction House, but sadly thats about as far as my comprehention goes.

Any addition information would help, especially to all the beefy veteran dark knights out there, thanks.

Relic Scythe is a drop in Dynamis-Bastok...In order to fully upgrade it you need hundreds of millions of gil to spend on currency, and rare items as well.

fyi, you will you need to pay fee every upgrade you do. Those fee are the ancient currency you collect in forms of items. expect to pay around 300-400 million gil on these currency.

You can if you're willing to spend a couple years going dynamis twice a week every week I suppose. Most people serious about relic weapons however will sponsor their own run to get all the currency drops and buy all the extra currency they come across too. Buying is the only way you can get enough of them within 6 months time frame I suppose

You need to sponsor your own runs to cheapen the cost. Basically, you pay for the entry fee and a sponsoring fee (which varies from server to server, Dynamis LS to Dynamis LS)

This allows you to get exclusive bids on all currencies, while everyone else participating gets to lot on AF2 stuff and whatever else (usually that's the general rule, but again, it is dependant on who manages these runs)

I think for Ragnarok sever, the DCA (Dynamis Cat Attack) group allows sponsorship.

I think Kittycatty is still in charge of things over there.

On Hades, AscendantSky runs their own Dynamis shell, while the others, like Arcadia and Excellence, all form their own groups or coops.

I think on Middie, if I remember correctly, Valor runs their own and maybe RZero, while PD and the others probably form Co-ops. Again, not sure about the other servers, but it's best to use the server forums or ask around (The best time is NOT when a group is organizing and getting ready to enter Dynamis because you'll make more enemies than friends doing that)

You don't need to spend that money if you sponsor. Try and ask around on your server. I know generally players can spend anywhere from 1.5 million to 2 million or so to sponsor a run. Any and all currencies that drop on the run you're sponsoring will be exclusively yours (That's the general term, but you need to make sure when you talk to the LS leader or event organizer)

I'm not sure about how things are currently, but I do know that about a year ago, sponsoring a run meant paying for the hourglass and what they would call a hiring fee (usually another million gil) This money usually went into the LS bank to fund future events for the LS that you're working with and sponsoring the Dynamis run for.

Nowadays, a million gil really isn't worth much on a lot of servers, so the sponsoring fee may have tripled or even quadrupled now. However, I still think this is the best way to go, since if you take the fee that you pay to sponsor a run and then divide that up by the potential drops, you should come out ahead, if not even. I'm surprised not many players who are serious about upgrading their relics are doing this, but then again, I don't know many LS/groups that allow sponsorship to occur on every run (There might be a policy in which you might be limited in sponsoring a run to once every month or something like that as to not interfere with the members from the LS/group since they want to get their hands on currency as well)

I also need to add that if you're extremely lucky, you can also sell some excess currency on the side which will reduce your cost even further. It's something you might want to think about ...
