hey right now i am eating jack o lanterns for the +10 acc

i can get them for almost free because i have so many bee hive chips, fire crystals, and pumpkins saved up on mules and my gardener.

so eating these for free over buying something else would it be really worth it at lvl 40-50?

There is better food to eat than that. Sole Sushi gives you dex and str and a smathering of other things too as well as a % increase in accuracy. If you focus your equips more on attack and str it might be okay. And that's just okay, not great. I really can't say for sure. I feel as though you'll be lacking in something if you stick with jackos. I'll let someone else get more specific with it.

another thing is i am dead broke in the game because i failed some bcnm 40s and invested my last bit of gill in hi poitions.

what does sole sushi cost and/or how hard is it to farm ingrediants

i already took 108 beehive chips to make 36 bees wax. and 36 orge pumpkins with 36 fire crystals to make those pumpkins. I already have this, i farmed it so i wouldn't have to buy food for a while in hopes that i can eliminate my need to farm for gil for the food any more in hopes that i can put that money towards the sniper rings i so despirtly need.

Yeah, Sole Sushi is about 50k on Lakshmi. But if you're not going to go with some serious Acc+ from Sushi, then just eat Atk+ food.

Yeah, the 3hrs on Jack-'o-Lanterns is nice, and they're cheap to make. But that Acc+10 and Eva+10 doesn't out weight the STR+5, DEX+5, Acc+15%, RngAcc+15%, & HP+20.

DRK at Lv.50 really needs to have at least Acc+20. It sucks, but it's pretty much what's expected. It's also pretty damn expensive. Things were much easier, and generally cheaper when we were all eating Mithkabobs!

Sole Sushi is nice, but the +STR is overrated as you get higher in levels (I'll explain this in a bit)

You're in a pinch for money, you say? Well, you did mention that you're cooking up these wonderful Jack-O'-Lanterns yourself. I have something that may be of interest to you.

Tentacle Sushi
HP +20, Dexterity +3, Agility +3, Mind -1, Accuracy +19% (Cap: 18), Double Attack +1%

Ingredients: Earth Crystal, Ginger, Tarutaru Rice, Rice Vinegar, Distilled Water, Cone Calamary

Okay, the recipe caps out at 58 (So if you're at 60 in cooking, that would be just fine) Another attraction to this recipe? Cone Calamary. You don't need 100 skill in fishing (Like Black Soles) - in fact, at or about 15-20 is sufficient.

Doing these things should not only cut your costs (Eliminates that annoying dependance on Fire Crystals for one thing) but allow you to make a tidy profit as well. Here on Hades, these things go for about 40k a pop. You do the math - a few stacks of these a day and you'll have your sniper's in no time.

Now, with regards to the whole +STR issue. It is a well known fact that most DRKs can't hit their damage potential. Whether it's because we're not allowed to go all out in exp parties (at the risk of very large downtimes) or the fact that we already load up on enough +STR (Haubergeon is a fine example of this) that w/o stacking Berserk and Last Resort together, we could never hit the magical ceiling.

The only reason why you'll need STAT+ is for weapon skills where their damage is derived from certain STATs. This you can remedy with swapping in appropriate gear (ergo, rings) but at your levels, why bother? No one expects you to have 3 sets of crap in your inventory and especially if this is your first job through. I did fine w/o Sniper's going from 40 to 50 and back then, there wasn't any sushi to rely on.

Anyway, if you're cooking and you might as well start fishing a bit, then the tentacle sushi could be a good staple for your DRK.

XD i forgot to mention the reason i can get the jack o lanterns is my friend has cooking high enough to make it so i guess i really need to lvl cooking. i don't want to get into that because i feel it is better left for another forum.

thinking about going ahead and selling the jacks maybe and then trying to use that money to lvl cooking.

ok this is based off of the whole 2 dex = acc

i got 40 + 15 dex making 55 dex making 27 acc

15% of 55 is 4.125 acc

vs jack o lanterns of 10 acc

but PLEASE correct me if i'm wrong

I leveled Cooking by making Juices. I believe I made juices exclusively from Lv.0 to Lv.40 something. If not higher. And in a number of cases the fruit needed to make them aren't that expensive. You can buy the fruit for pretty cheap at regional vendors all over the place. But your right, Cooking skilling doesn't belong here.

The 2 DEX = 1 Accuracy statement hasn't been proven. That aside, though, 1 skill in your weapon is equivalent to 0.9 accuracy and attack, and the cap at 42 is 129 if I did the math right...129 x 0.9 = 116(.1); 116 x 0.15 = 17 Accuracy, and that's disregarding the accuracy you get from your DEX (which, like I said, is impossible to know with 100% certainty right now.) Also, you probably have a base ammount of Accuracy you start with in addition to what you gain from your skill and DEX, considering every character has a base ammount of Attack they begin with. The +5 STR will definetely increase your damage output too, and the +6 DEX may let you score a few criticals (though how much 6 DEX will affect your critical rate is also unknown.) If you can pay for it, Sole Sushi is definetely a much better choice.

seems like leveling dark knight would be a golden opportunity to level food since you don't always get refresh. carry a stack of ingredients, synth between chains.

also, everything Armando said I agree with, except I believe 1 WS level = 1 attack/accuracy. I've seen the attack rise, haven't tested the acc. What's assumed is it becomes .9 per level for every skill level past 200. In other words, you have even MORE base accuracy to enhance with sushi.

well i started cooking in hopes that i can get it high enough to make my own sushi because i think it will be good once i hit lvl 50. farming water clusters to make juices i'm up to 35ish now then i will farm crawlers to get a little money to buy the oranges then apples then what ever else but yeah. I hate being so poor in the game XD

No...geting str for a drk comes back to bite you.

Having more str always helps, but when you start SATA, it's all str you want, since /thf get no dex bonus.

hehe. just have to be flexible xD I'd say you STR+ACC food like sole sushi is good when you use /war.

My warrior is 24 right now, going to test out tentacle sushi once I hit 25 and see how much it helps. +1% double attack sounds so litte o.O but still makes me wanna test it. If the rate is noticable it all it might be a very interesting food choice. Plus im makng profit off them a lot too so it's even better ^^ Sole/Squid sushi got undercut a lot these days.

tried tentacle sushi last night on my samurai. Very good stuff, but I never saw myself double attack. This was about four hours of partying. Of course, I'm warrior main so maybe I take them for granted?
