everyone tells me this is a bad idea...but with the damage of the Dark Knight and the songs of the Bard, how can one go wrong with this combo?

under 30, some claim it's ok, but I personally don't like it. once you get access to beserk, /war is far better than anything /brd can offer (which isn't much).

Waaaaaaay back in the day, I subbed whm with my drk. Now in the lower lvls with noob players, it worked excellent. Getting 5k+ exp in pt's in the dunes was WOWZA back then. LOL Of course there comes a time with all "odd" combinations when they are no longer useful.

Not only do they become obsolete but you'll run into a LOT of opposition from people. Trust me when I say you'll get sick of it really fast and go lvl something more conventional. It's hard enough seeking for hours or days on drk but I have a feeling with drk/brd you could be seeking for weeks. >.<

Only one song when subbed and most of the time it will not be Minuet you are playing, but Madrigal. /BRD offers nothing to aid a DRK's combat skill stat or skill wise. Only Madrigal and Minuet.

If you plan to skill up your weapons, using /BRD is excellent. Madrigal for better accuracy and the stats not based for meleeing means the monster lasts longer so technically you can hit it more.

In an EXP party, it lasts just till you near 40. At 40, you get twin snipers/woodsmans/whatever other accuracy gear, madrigal quickly begins to lose its charm and the minuet boost is nothing compared to Berserk + Double Attack.

Not to mention that your one song won't be very powerful and won't last very long at all due to your pathetic halved Singing skill.
