  • Satalrse?

I was wondering... Could you do mad damage with a combo containing Sneak Attack Trick Attack Last Resort Souleater? Would it work? Mad damage? XD

  • #2
Well doing SA + TA + Last Resort should improve your damage, that's a given. Soul Eater though is something I wouldn't be sure on if it's there. I'm not sure because I really haven't heard much of if Soul Eater works with WS and if there's restrictions on what WSs? I already know Soul Eater is useless if you use ranged, but then on ranged SA+TA is also useless.

As far as I know satalr will work but satalrse ..... can't say.

        Ummm ... yah. ?

WTF ... here's two lessons for the day.

        (a) As THF/DRK @ 60, SE and LR is pretty gimped. Your SATA, however, is much stronger.

        (b) As DRK/TFH @ 60, SATA is pretty gimped (TA doesn't even do anything outside of transferring hate for you) Your SE + LR is insane, though.

When you look at the two above, you realize you're gimped no matter what. You'll do nice damage, but you can only do the stacked every 5 min ... not sure why you want to do this though ...

I could see potential, I mean DRK/THF is mainly only for hate control. If the situation is right and it will be more benefical to attempt to stick hate permanently on a target then that stack would help it to occur.

So gives the DRK/THF more versatility for their hate control options.

Nah. You'll know when you play DRK in your 60s. It's not the all-or-nothing mentality and when you've partied with RNGs, you'll change that attitude really quickly. Instead, you'll find ways of cheating the line of taking too much aggro while accumulating as much DPS as you can and then pulling out your WSs.

Once a DRK get Spinning Slash, it's sufficient to just use that WS + SATA. The damage and subsequent result (Lightness) will be a lot (in excess of 1,500 combined and normally around 2,000 to 2,500 with very nicely equipped players) You spread out LR and SE among the mobs in the exp chain. When done right, you can have good DPS + a strong finisher and bonus.

Souleater is great that it works with any thing.

As a Drk Subjob, the player will only attain Souleater dmg based on 5% of his or her HP.

Normally with Drk Main, Souleater is 10% of Player's HP. This bonus is boosted to 15% with the use of AF helm or the lvl 50 Body equipment attainble through one of the new "subligar" fashion quests. The bonus' of AF Helm and the Body armor do not stack unfortunatly so the most possible Souleater at this time is still at 15% HP.

Since Souleater lasts more than one hit, it adds on a lot of damage on Multihit WS like Guillotine. And it's quite something to see when having fun. You will see a good HP drop when you do do a Souleater Guillotine so keeping in mind Whm MP and downtime of say an Exp PT should be in your mind before doing this.

SATA however only lasts for 1 hit this includes WS. Thus why SATA isn't so great on multihit WS. Having a 1hit WS like Spinslash makes it even more liked.

Also I must say, that the boosts of Last Resort are not as great as you would think. Last Resort does seem to lower your accuracy slightly. Whereas Souleater seems to also boost your accuracy quite a bit.

Macht is right though, if needed to "stick" hate as much as possible I would switch on souleater combined with AF helm (due to the 5% boost in SE and the +4 str) and go for it. Last Resort has become one of my least used skill at the same time, with its effectivness not being as great as the name entitles it to.

I do this usually at the begining of god fights now because the pop is controlled. Switch on Souleater at the begining, and spiral hell onto a nin tank. I let Souleater go on because it does help in doing damage and gaining TP faster. Also if needed I will have the chance to use Souleater again during the same fight for another WS or to just bring it's HP down more.

btw.. Kosy :3 miss you XD

Just like Kumaeru says, I do this on Gods and let souleater go on to improve DMG. On XP I do this too, but I won't stack souleater and LR, I alternate them when I can, since sometimes it's not the best to let souleater run the whole time in a XP mob.

It's like a RNG using Barrage, EES and his/her WS all in one go and on one mob. What does that achieve? Nothing ... ><;; You still have ... oh ... another 100 more mobs to fight.
