Just had a very good week in FFXI. Dinged 75 on Monday, finished Lu Shang's quest on Wednesday, and was just able to purchase Balin's tonight. I can't imagine having another week like this again. Wanted to say thanks to all the great posters on the board and their wealth of information. I wouldn't be nearly as good a DRK if it hadn't been for them. I've mostly been just a lurker but hopefully I can start providing some helpful information myself in the future.

i myself am down to 14k, helped people with avatars today and got killed twice in den of rancor with raise1, thanks to funny people who train alot ><

but wasn't their fault, accidents happen

being 75 for the past 3-4 months has taught me... that even though I told myself "i'm gonna help out people all the time after im 75" , its hard to fulfill, people tend to "over-expect" things from you, and you still try to work on your own things eg subjob or next job, but you lack the time.

so even though we call it endgame, trust me, there's still wayyyyy more to do ^^ ffxi never dies

Thanks for the kind words fellow DRKs. Been hitting up Dynamis/HNM/Gods since lvl 73, and its been a blast. I haven't xped since I dinged 75, but somehow camping stuff has slowly brought my buffer to 4.5k. So I won't worry about it much, I expect it to fill it nice and slowly I'm pretty much the only DRK that goes on runs in my LS so I fill a pretty strong, useful role; I still see a long run ahead.

And yes, there's still a lot, too much in fact, to do in this game, especially considering I'm a part time fisher. Getting fishing to 100 will be a quite a feat, only lvl 55 now ; ;.

As for me I won't need it when I hit 75. RERAISE III !!!!!!!! I suggest you make some WHM friends that have raise III, it will help you.

Hehe, all the lvl 75 WHM friends in the world can't do a thing for you if they're all offline Serket gave my 5-man pt a beating a couple days ago, only blink tank survived. My timer was down to 10 mins before a WHM finally popped up. I got raised with only a few mins left, scary moments indeed.

I was just Wondering what is a DRK's role in HNM/Dynamis?

Dynamis role - damage dealer + stun + sleep2 + nuke

sub nin, war(if no nin37) whm or rdm(assistant healer)

HNM role - damage dealer + stun

assuming hard-to-hit gods such as kirin, some prefer not to use normal swings for tp gain, as it contributes to HNM's tp, so

tp gain however you can, opo opo necklace, sam sub, etc. WS
some like their drks to store TP and fuidama WS.
some like their drks to meditate and spirits within.

Sorath hit the money with my role in Dynamis. I sub WAR cause my NIN is gimp >.< (I'm working on it ). I've never actually used my Sleep II, but after reading that, I just might make some use of it next time

My LS isn't really a HNM LS per se, but after all these people started nearing 75, that's what we all moved onto. We've only been hitting up Genbu, but Suzaku is on our hitlist - me want his scythe -O.O-. I personally sub THF, as we have 2 WAR/NIN's to tank that ugly turtle, and I cycle fuidama on whoever has its back. More importantly, I'm on main stun duty, as he regularly pops IV, III-ga, and ancients when he feels like it, and I seem to take care of them just fine by myself - which leaves our BLM's peace of mind to nuke to their hearts content. I don't do much research on this stuff, so I guess I'll be doing the same on the others - hopefully I'll be just as helpful

On our HNM runs they seem to ask the same of me, hype up 300tp and play hate setter, and stun when needed.

I wanted to comment that stun is absolutely our best and most useful spell. People really appreciate a DRK (or BLM for that matter) that really knows how to use it effectively, at least that's the warm feeling I get when I've been praised on it
