  • Newb ... SATA Macro?

I was lvling in Labryinth of Onzozo and I was screwing up A LOT...

My SATA Macro goes like this ....

    /p Guillotine ----> <t>!
    /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
    /wait 1
    /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
    /wait 1
    /ws "Guillotine" <bt>

    However, when I was fighting the Toramas, it kept doing this;

    Icarus uses Sneak Attack
    Icarus readies Guillotine
    Icarus uses Trick Attack

wtf is wrong? I found if I put wait 3 between /ja "Trick Attack" <me> and /ws "Guillotine" <bt>, it fixes this SOMETIMES, wait 4 is is too long, I think
    ..

I used /war sub up until 60... this /thf stuff is new to me ><

    Help me out!

I can't say I see what's wrong with it exactly... prolly just lag screwing everything up.

    /ja sneak attack
    /wait 1
    /ja trick attack

by itself should work, then you could activate guillotine from a diff macro.

I myself have sneak/trick on two seperate macros, so i've never really had issues like this, so sorry i can't help much more.

make 2 macros it'll be more versatile later.
      /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
      /wait 1
      /ja "Trick Attack" <me>

then another one for your WS.

Maybe make one macro for Sneak Attack and one macro Trick Attack + WS.
You will see yourself use sneak attack with normal hit more, and Trick Attack + WS more at before 65. And if you wanna do both, just press Sneak attack macro 1st, then press the 2nd macro.

          i use this one

          /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
          /wait 1
          /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
          /wait 1
          /ws "Guillotine" <t>

works 100% its perfect give it try but be carful if you press ctrl+any press it 1 time only if you if you press the macros more than once there is always a chance for trick attack to miss cuz anytime you press macros more than once
the time in the macros (the /wait1) will start again so you will miss trick attack

i have SA TA and WS all in different macro, as each has their own. once you get use to them you can do the 2nd macro 0.5 secs after first macro hit. its actually faster or close to wait 1

nothing wrong with you macro you got SA TA in, WS text somewhat runs faster than JAs

Personally, I use two macros. I've had lag problems that screw up with only one macro. My SATA macro is generic:

              /ja "Sneak Attack" <t>
              /wait 1
              /ja "Trick Attack" <t>

Then I just mash the hell out of the WS macro . Sometimes I find that while moving a bit, SATA macros fail. Macros are weird.

                My macro, works every time.

                /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
                /wait 2
                /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
                /wait 1
                /ws "Cross Reaper> <t>

use that, and it will work every time

When levelling THF I used this for SATA+Viper Bite:

                  /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
                  /wait 1
                  /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
                  /wait 1
                  /ws "Viper Bite" <t>

                  Never failed me once.

I have a SATA Guillotine Macro, but more recently I only use this macro for trick attack + Guillotine by adding the line skips:

                      /aja "Sneak Attack" <me>
                      /await 1
                      /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
                      /wait 1
                      /ws "Guillotine" <t>
                      /p #1 Guillotine >> <t> <call14>

Then I have a general SATA Macro:

                      /ja "Sneak Attack" <me>
                      /wait 1
                      /ja "Trick Attack" <me>
                      /wait 60
                      /echo - - SATA Ready! - -

I know that the /echo will get removed if you use another Macro after it, but for doing a Normal swing with combined SATA it doesn't affect it too much, for me anyways (I dont have everything I would think of using macro'ed, so I dont use too many macros in the first place).

And of course a normal WS macro.

Usually when you use the SATA macro, you can press the WS macro right about half way through the Trick Attack Animation.

Also it's best not to do Trick attack then Sneak attack in you're macro. If there is lag and Trick attack does go first and could turn the monster, then the more powerful Sneak attack will miss.

I notice the log sometimes has a funny way of displaying things out of order. Ive seen MB dmg displayed before renkei dmg, when i check my plants sometimes it displays pot contents before it displays moogle text, ive seen renkei dmg displayed before ws dmg.

I think your macro is working fine. I just got out of a group where THF was doing fuidama and this is what was displayed:

                          THF readies SA
                          THF readies Viper Bite
                          THF readies TA

Just like you, but VB was still doing 500dmg. No way it could be doing that much if TA wasn't getting stacked.

Just test it, do some guillo runs where you leave out TA completely, then do some runs with TA included and compare dmg. Also if TA really is firing after guilotine, shouldn't there be an extra atkup icon up top? Look for that too when you do the tests.

Better yet, look at the top of you're screen if you see something like that in the log try and see if you still have the trick attack effect still active on you're status area. If it's still there then it's either lag or a macro problem. If it's not then it could be 1 on 2 things.

                            1. You're macro worked perfectly fine and you have no problems.

                            2. the WS went, and you swung right after the WS and used up Trick Attack.

Note #2 will only happen on some occasions, very rarely. So if Trick Attack isnt up on you're status area, you more than likely did SATA+WS correct.

no matter how things worked before, i strongly recommend the one that Ednoon uses; all separate. i have them all separated myself, too.

like Ednoon said, once u get used to it, u'll know that it's better than having /wait. almost no normal attack firing during ja's (which could happen often w/ those all-in-one macros or even SATA-in-one macros), quick activations of all, and the best of all, when things go wrong such as mob turned around to mages, u have ability to stop it.

trust me, even if it seems to be working now, that kinda macro will screw up sometimes.
