af boots, looks nicer, +hp good for souleater, the longer arcane circle good for fighting arcana later on. the +dex and +agi from the boots isn't really noticeable unless you're a thf main.滅殺

because our AF boots look 10x cooler than leaping boots, i'd say go with the AF boots

I doubt I'm going to wear any of my AF (except MAYBE the helmet, but probably not because I like my Valk's Mask). Then again, Leaping Boots are barely worth it for DRK (definitely not worth the price tag).
DRK AF has some amazingly useless stats. Personally, I'd rather just wear straight armor on my feet (because wearing AF boots with anything non-AF looks... well, wierd). AF has always struck me as "what you wear if you can't afford what you SHOULD be wearing". I'm sure that, as you get it, AF is the best there is but it so quickly gets made obsolete by other armors that most people I see in AF, I HOPE are just doing it to show off (in particular DRK AF... people like PLDs almost NEED to wear theirs, but DRK AF is something of a joke).
I'm going to do all my AF quests so I have some purdy armor to run 'round in but I'll probably only use it for a few levels, until I can afford some real equipment. Everyone gets AF anyway, so it's unlikely to get you more party invites, which tends to be my first consideration since I'm usually competing with 2-3 other DRKs plus a DRG or two and the occasional SAM.Equips Acquired:

You think the DRK AF stats are useless?....I'd have to semi-agree with you...
You think that AF is the armor people get because they can't afford other armor?....
Umm....Just so were on the same page here, what armor is better from level 50-69, that could POSSIBLY look half decent. And I'm not talking about some crappy Def: 49 with no other stats.....because the last thing a DRK needs is DEF....
The thick set is definately worth switching to at 69, but before that, what the hell are we supposed to wear???
Leaping boots? I'd rather wear no boots at all than wear lizard skin looking boots, they're the ugliest things ever....
And as well, the DRK AF helm is one of the most useful things I've ever seen for a DRK....souleater is definately an ability worth using if your tank has good hate control, so why not wear the helmet, since it ups that souleater effect, and gives some decent stats.
AF is not useless, but if they made it the best armor in the game, then obviously EVERYONE would wear it, so they can't make it as badass in stats as they do in looks.

better than
DRK AF body - lv58 HP+20 VIT+3 ATK+5 enf magic+5
and RK breeches is superior to DRK AF leggings and can be worn at a lower level.

Ok...point taken on the Haubergeon....nice call.
Although it is true that haubergeon is better, some of us don't have 2-3 million gil to spend on it, so i eliminated that as a choice.
Actually I just completely forgot to list it to be honest.
And about the RK breeches, and just RK set in general, the gloves may be a slight bit better than AF, but I'd rather take the sexyness+10 for the AF peices than the stats on RK. Just my opinion.★ RDM 51 / BLM 37 ★
