Here are the helm choices at lvl 70, in order of increasing ugliness (and level coincedently), IMO of course.

Emperor's Hairpin: +3 DEX
Valkyrie's Mask: +10 MP, +7 ATK
Chaos Burgeonet: +4 STR, Enhance Souleater, +5 DRK Skill
Celata: +3 ACC, +4 ATK
Optical Hat: +10 ACC

Personally, I only wear my helm when fighting mobs and I'm lazy (no Souleater macros for me ) so I plan on wearing my AF helm all the way, and +STR will be what I'll concentrate on once I finish up thick series, including that well known and expensive body piece, sigh.

Recalling from memory doesn't seem to work very well, must not get lazy and check equipment lists every single time when I post stats on gear

keep it on you. If you have trouble hitting things with just your AF helm on, whip out the Celeta. Other wise, stick to your AF helm. That's what I do. It's ugly as hell, but every little bit of +Acc helps when you are fighting some HNMs that you can barely land a swing (like voulvier in Ifrits cauldron, I could hardly hit it at 68 >_<).

But if you have a 12.04% hit rate making it into 12.12% doesn't help much either. :spin:

also have atk and def gears macro switch. hit atk gear up macro automaticly wears Celata.

atk gears are 2 Sniper's ring and Celata and coral earring.
def gears are 2 phalanx rings and slayer's earring.

AF helm gives you a nice +STR bonus, +5 dark magic skill (and we all know how much we wuv our dark magic), and that Souleater bonus, to me that's the best we could ask for in a helm

In terms of looks-wise, are their any acceptable pieces of high level headgear that do not influence your appearance much?
Like a headband or circlet sort of look. I prefer the look of NO helmet...
