Sniper Rings...

Hmm, I tried Pashhow today in an attempt to begin farming for my first Sniper... I earned about 5k in 2 hours and with that, gave up...

Where are these "Mindless 10k/hr" spots? Or easy 20k/hr? At lvl 40? 10-20 per hour would do me fine, I'd be willing to put the effort into it, but I'd prefer a consistant income... 5k in 2 hours isn't good...

I myself and now level 51(broke level cap last night), and havent yet obtained a sniper's ring. I want two of them, naturally. I realized that stacks of Doll Shard sell for 30k, and when I was escorting to low level people across batallia, and idea struck me; is it possible, that if you take a low lvl thief with you who has th1, and farm tigers in Jugner, that the drop rate will be higher? I'm debating now whether or not to use my 200k (from selling my emperor hairpin) to purchase a sniper's ring (300k), or invest it into smither for iron ingots....

I bought a pair of rubies to replace them, and frankly I'm pretty pleased with the results. +4 STR is definately a lot more than just +2 attack. The hit on acc isn't as bad as I thought it would be, I guess when you get hauberk and a full thick set, you're kind of overboard there on acc. Maybe sometime in the future when I get more money, I'll buy back my snipers, but currently I'm happy with my rubies

I just got my first Sniper Ring today at level 41 and thought I'd say a few words.

There's basically no way around a lot of mind numbing farming or camping of an already overcamped NM. If you want a sniper ring about the same time you can first equip one, you'll just have to grin and bear it.

Farming tiger fangs in Batallia sounds very promising, but at level 40 you're not quite ready for it. Those Sabertooth Tigers still aggro a level 40 player and the down time is a bit too extreme.

What I did was alternate between Buburimu killing Dhalmels and Crawlers similar to what Mithreal mentioned, and Valkurm farming lizard skins. Buburimu was much better in terms of gil/time but you just have to go somewhere else every so often just so you don't go mad.

As far as skipping the Archer Rings, I'd say you made the right choice. You have the 2 balance rings which sad as it may be, make you more attractive than many other DRKs your level. They would only net you 2 more points of accuracy anyway and that won't magically make you hit that much more often (Royal Squire Mufflers sure didn't make that much difference). Just hang in there though, you're at a frustrating point in a DRK's career, but all that +acc gear is waiting for you at the end of the tunnel.

I have a question on this..

When farming dhamels, does a thief sub make that much of a difference?

I was farming dhamels last night at 32 (I'm gonna take a break from farming and lvl to 35 to kill off any goblin aggro issues) and make about 5k in an hour and a half. That's craptastic. However, i had warrior subbed. So I'm asking, will it really make a difference with thief subbed?

It's not thf sub, it's treasure hunter 1 that you get with a lvl 15+ thf sub that makes a huge difference. My experience says greater than double the drop rate, if you need some convincing.

I pretty much gave up on the sniper rings due to frustation. I been killing tigers for fangs and doing the quest for sandoria turning in stacks upon stacks. I was going nuts! But the real kicker is when after a bunch of bcnms with 2 other friends and 3 random n00bie bcnm members (lost 2 orbs, shame on me) we finally won one with my orb... and this is what I got..

I spent 5 hours trying to get a successful bcnm and this what I got out of it -_-

And to make matters worse the pld goes "Oh, I didnt think it take that long to win, I have to go." after we told him how many fights we were doing and how long each bcnm usually takes with our setup. Then the experienced bard leaves ><

After that I just gave up, just to frustrated. So instead I took my 135k that I gained from tiger hunting and bought squire mufflers, the +4 accuracy gorget. And im just going to upgrade to +3 dex rings and get my assault earring too. Im going to be less appealing then someone with snipers but at least I got all my other items that I need and little bit better rings then I did have ^^

You shouldn't farm just Dhalmels, as you found out, your really can't make good money that way. But you kill everything else there too and the money isn't so bad. You can get silk, cotten, silver beastcoins, along with all the dhalmel drops and gil from goblins.

basically I was paying off the debt slowly in favors. that aside, I was trying to get HQ snipers by having the guild tanner synth 2 archers a day, then selling them back on the AH (profits going to the guilder of course D: ), etc. the person I owed money to decided to log onto my char, see that I had money, and just took it back, leaving me without enough to buy back snipers Oh well, at least I'm debt-free again lol

Anyhow, thanks ^^ but I'm happy with what I have atm. It's a wild stab at the other side. Kitty's whoring acc, and I can't beat him there so I'm just gonna try to whore my attack lol. 438 base attack with room to grow :D And I haven't even got my curses yet ^^ I don't miss snipers enough to want to put myself back in debt for them :p

I got my first sniper's at 46 and am close to getting my second one, thanks to BCNM and farming with my level 45 thf friend.
