^ Living proof that Tarus can be high level DRKs.

Or any other job we damned well please.

          That's your opinion.

But every time I see a level 75 Galka WHM or BLM in full JSE, or a Taru-taru SAM75 or WAR75, I know that I am in the presence of one skilled player.

By comparison, Taru BLM75s and Galka MNK75s or WAR75s are a dime a dozen.

When you see a high level player with a race that is not suited for their job, you don't see skill, you see a crapload of gil to make up for how gimped they are.

But hey, if you think rich != skilled, by all means...

That's certainly debatable - but by the same token (aside from RSE) that same gear on the race/job appropriate combinations would still leave a significant gap between them and mis-matched jobs/races.

A Taru BLM75 in full JSE and all the high-gill, rare/ex gear would still out-do a Galka BLM75 with the same gear in MP and INT.

But it doesn't make the player behind the galka any less of a player wit skill and perserverance.

As for Gil != skill.... it takes a fair measure of skill ... be it trading between mules and AHs, hunting NMs, growing stuff, HNMs, BCNMxx, crafting, or whatever one can do to become truly wealthy in this game, no?

Once again, even if that Galka BHM75/WHM37 is a re-classed MNK75 that made his fortunes as a MNK, or if he started as a noob BLM, more power to him for picking the race he wanted and sticking with it.

I won't argue that he will find a PT as easily as the Taru BLM; but the fact that he stuck it out is admirable.

money and skill are not directly related... however, they are very closely related that if you see a player in flashy gear, you can guesstimate that their skill is high.

                      Allow me to explain.

Mucho gil = mucho playtime (crafting or nm hunting or high level or hnm or bcnm, whatever it is).
Mucho playtime means alot of experience.

Also, those that invest well into their gear are the ones that take their job seriosly - you can bet 99% of them do the study, ie how to maximize their strength while covering their weakness.

Another proof is that, those that suck, will get a reputation.. and will slow down on leveling process. I've seen many of people that get stuck at certain level, due to their sucky skills and word of the mouth.

In my opinion, race has least impact on effectiveness of class. What matters most is your job, subjob, equipment and your skill.
