reason why... hmm, i wanted to be a elvann. thats why, lol. i was gonna go for blm, but elvan mp and INt sucks so i thought i would have to go melee.. from there on, i was decideing to be either a pld or drk. but then i heard of the shitty dmg of the pld, and drk having the one of the easiest quests adv job quests. so i decided id try out drk first, than i loved it, so now i'm sticking too it till 60 or whenever.. next job brd/whm.. lol

I tried out 3 adv jobs b4 i went to try DRK. PLD was my first. I left that cause my party kept letting me die. it was crazy how many times i would die in like an hour, jus because the WHM wouldnt heal me when i ran outta MP to cure myself. I suppose if my party wasnt all rookies it could have been avoided, but thats in the past.

Then i went to NIN. I thought Id be able to hang with it, I did the repeat quest with the zinc ore, and the yagudo necklaces to get my fame up in Norg, and even got Utsusemi. Hell even after that, i was about as popular as a whm. But there lies the problem. I was goin through NIN tools like a bad habit. dumpin 4800 every 1 or 2 hours jus on one spell, was gettin to expensive for my average lvl 30s income. so i dropped it at lvl 18. went back to war and lvled it once more.

Then came ranger. I liked it a lot. even bought the best things i could get for up to lvl 15 before i got fed up with it. I dont know if it was inexperience or jus my bow. i had the hunters bow and all the things i could grab ahold of that gave me Agi. or Acc. but in PTs if i couldnt hit ITs or VTs without sharp shot. i was screwed. and i was wasting money on missed shots. So thats when i tried drk out.

It was something i wanted to be since before i even got the game. but oddly enough, something i passed up because theres a good bit of them. I ended up puttin that aside, and gave it a go. i debated well through the lvl i am now if i should stay with it, jus for my reason earlier. but i told myself, whats the use in playin a game if im not happy? that one little question, along with the #s that fly up on the screen was enough to satisfy my needs, and ive been lovin it ever since.

Because I enjoy having SEX fuck with me and constantly make what appears to be a good job seem like shit and get no invites. Because even when we do hit the lv70 mark where arcana killer is actually not a pos ability, you have to be able to go to Tulia to fight arcana, so I also enjoy having to be forced to finish Jirat missions, of which today I was screwed over on by not talking to an NPC, so I have to do it again, just so I can level. Also I enjoy constantly sitting in town for hours, having Rangers surpass my damage and also I like making my defence go to 1 as my attack goes to infinity.

But for the record, I like using Darkness and hurting myself, nothing else comes close to that, ever.

Ever since I heard about FF11, Dark Knight has appealed to me, I was actually going to import the game..but Im weak in JP, so decided not to..But anyways, Dark Knight is just so friggin cool, with the most badass looking armor and weapons, they just have this cool aura. Since the game came out I have already made a Hume DRK, and am now working on Galka. ^^

Aldo's post hits close to home, but i also chose the dark knight because its what i envisioned my Elvaan to become on his path through the game.

I have another charachter (Taru BLM) but I wanted to see the side of both worlds (Mage and Fighter) I created a new character (Galka) and I am on my way to beoming a DRK. I don't really want to be them because they look kewl...(Although that is a major plus It's because of thge awsome DMG that they deal! Parties in the higher lvs have a specific party that they all have to follow. And people WANT DRK! They are the highest DMG dealing class and they are there for the disgustingly insane amounts of DMG that they can dish out in each hit. I am not yet a DRK but I am escalating to the point at where I can become one. With both charcters I'm going to be a major DMG dealer (Only because tank and support are not quite my forte') I can't wait until I can be a DRK because I looove the fact that people may not want you, but they'll NEED you

hey almighty_boof,

did you read the two posts above your talking about how HARD it is for drk's to get groups...because they have lots of competition and arent really neccesary? (just like every other attacking melee, no single one is nec. because there are so many viable alternatives.)

EDIT: oh, and what the hell is this "specific party" all high levels "must" follow lol. Cuz if only 6 classes are to be played at high levels...need i say more?

I chose to play a DRK because I played a Shadow Knight in Everquest for over 2 years, and this is the type of class I like to play. Dark Knight is a specialist class with enough versability to make it fun.

Also I like playing offensive classes that cast spells. I used to play wizards a lot in AD&D but they don't work the same in a MMORPG, so I went for melee/caster hybrids. I like rangers too, but I like my magic to be offensive, and FF XI ranger is just to expensive for me. I like ninja and samurai too, but will only play ninja for fun and samurai for subjob.

So DRK as a main, no doubts about it.

Hmm... Well having attained my first Advanced Job (DK) by myself... and at the time no one wanted to help me get paladin willingly, (and I got fed up with that quest all together...) So I started leveling the job on a whim with no intention of doing it full time...

Next thing you know I liked how my Elvaan was swinging the sword like a Baseball bat, how I can make my own magic bursts off of renkei, and also how much fun it is to drain HP off of enemies... I dunno its just a fun and laid back class to play...
