  • this is driving me crazy, I can't understand it

ok, for the passed two weeks of Christmas break, I have NOT enjoyed my experience playing FFXI, why? I have to wait 3-4 days to get a party! I can't make one, never a healer when there's a tank and never a tank when there's a healer. Most my friends have passed me up and even other DRKs that I knew that were my lvl passed me up, I don't understand why I'm the one that gets stuck without a pt for days. I eat food, my sub is up to date, I know what I'm doing...stuff those other DRKs don't have, yet I'm not gettin pts as easly as others...

AlthoughI am still a lower level that you I can feel your pain. Over the last few years of playing MMO's I have always played Paladins and had set myself up to do the same here I started by bring up a monk to 20 for my sub and chocobo and then my war as main to 30 toget my advanced job. It was so hard to get paries as a war/monk (I watched all of my mage friends pass me first with their beginning jobs.. then with their advanced) so... I made a decision... I did a few world wide searches and realized there were about 2.5 times as many paladins as any other adv. job.. so, after talking to afew of my importer LS members and JP friends I made a decision to start a Bard/whm from scratch. It's been tough having to totaly level a sub and main from scratch but I love the job and I never have to look for a group for more than 5 minuets while leveling either my main or sub.

Now, you have obviously put a good deal of time into your DRK and I wouldn't switch in your place. But all I can say is have perseverence and when you find good parties play your best and you will be recognized and remembered. Beyond tht all I can say is that I can feel your pain. It was not long ago at all that I was spending hours and hours in Jueno with the 'ol flag on hoping for that invite...but eventually they came and we got it done..Hang in there buddy

hmph, if you could open up the Hero-diary, well let's just say, after the shit that's happened to me ingame, I'd call that a damned good day.

I feel your pain. Getting a PT can be the most tedious and frustrating thing in the game..Unfortunatly it has to be done though...its an endless cycle. I got kind of bored of waiting for PT's and such and started a new character for fun, which i now am turning into my main character ^^.

grr, I dislike my LS, 80% of them are under 30 or barely over 30, 3 of them are over 50, and I'm the only one in the 40's ~_~

I'm wondering wtf is wrong cause other DRKs seem to have a MUCH easier time getting parties. Ones I pted with a few days ago are now 50+...how the hell can they get pts while I seek for days?

Well, since most of the NA players are not that high yet in levels it might be a good idea to join a static party. A lot of players are just now getting advanced jobs or just now hitting level 30 with their advanced job. You're just too fast Hisdon. Give the Static Party a shot, who knows you may end up really liking it.

I never had a static group, it never formed...I never got invited to one...nothing...you make gettin a static group sound easy...

Kore has a static party? she's always seeking.

am I the only person on our server without a set party or something? this is bullshit

Unless you have a decent understanding of japanese and can communicate with japanese gamers pretty well, static parrties really are the way to go. There just aren't enough NA players in the 40-60 range right now to make parties easily, and unless you know japanese, getting in on japanese parties can be difficult. Of course, setting up a static party isn't easy either (especially if you're forced to be the leader...it's a lot more work than you might think). I've been in a static group since my drk was 15, and we've had a lot of fun. We're doing our AF2 quests now, which is something new for all of us. Once you've got everything set up and running smoothly, static parties really are worth it. But getting to that point can take a lot of time and effort.
