Cardians are those robot dudes in Windurst. You can often see them guarding gates. You also find them beating the crap out of people in the ruins or whatever.

yeah, in the W Saru ruins there's a one that's a maze. The cardians appear in the maze in increasing order, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on.

Me and a friend almost got raped by the 3s at lvl 14, so I guess they increase lvls in intervals of 5.

Yeah arcane circle gives the PT in the Area of Effect a "defense boost" against that type of mob does it not?....That's the impression that I got.

It's basically very similar to the Paladin Holy Circle skill. Except....It's arcana....so...all the above things mentioned.

I actually find humor in "Card"ians. Playing cards - hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs + joker

and Tarot cards - baton, coins, cups and swords in Outer Horutoto Ruins
Baton-Blm, Coin-Rdm, Cups-Whm and Sword-War

Bah, just forget about what Arcana is. You don't really need to know that anyway. At any rate, I have found other uses for the circle abilities. The circle abilities draw hate. This is probably useless to higher levels but right now, when I have to tank sometimes, I use it when the party is in a pinch and can't provoke the mob. The mob usually attacks me.
