anyone know a good way to kill the time while you wait?

This is why I took up fishing.

Good way to kill time AND makey money at the same time, with little money invested.

yea its BS aint it...we dks got raw power and can hold are own in a fight ive tanked plenty of times to know that well we dont suck at tanking that much. japanese players dont really pick drks cause they have low def. thats what they mainly look at besides not having a suitable ws for renkei. kinda stupid if u ask me...if the mages heal us then whats the problem? we drks are not going to get guilloteen(sp) if we dont get /ts.

I was talkin to a friend yesterday on why his pt never invites DRKs, and he couldn't come up with a good reason...there really ISN'T a reason, it's stupid...

I'm in a linkshell and was in a party and they were ripping on me pretty hard because I seemed to build tp slower than most (I think I miss more on IT stuff than our ranger and monk), and because the mnk/thf totally destroyed me in damage. Really, the mnk/thf does so much more dmg than me its insane. Oh well, when my linkshell is on they put up with my drk but if they arent, the japanese will have nothing to do with an english speaking drk.

p.s. I also took up fishing, but was wondering if there was a good spot to fish in jeuno, and what type of rod/bait you use.

ok my last post was a little vauge but I was in a hurry, I'll explain the conversation...

me-so, how do the damage dealers compare at your lvl?
him-they all do about the same...all the static parties are desperate for the too
me-...then why don't DRK get pts?
him-sure they do a hell a lot, more than the DRGs (yes he's at the lvl with Tridents and Lances) but they are commen
me-why is that a bad thing?
him-...I don't know...the THF in our pt (it's not really a static pt, it's just him, a PLD, and a THF that always get stuck together) doesn't like them and he's the leader
                me-that explains it...THF don't like DRKs -.-

                it's total bs...

i know you think getting partys are hard but being a whm my self and gettting asked by like 10 people within the first 1 minute of being signed on sort of sucks to.. i mean it gets annoying. they wont stop talking to you until you either join there party of go to filters and shut off /tell's. its fun!

I don't know about you but there just isn't that many drks at low levels. But wait until you get to lv60+ the competition is aweful, theres like 20 of every melee job and only like 3 bards.

I've actually played with enough good darks to change my perspective about the job. I had too many bad experiences where the tank was not good enough or the DRK was just insane and it always ended up in death. A couple of DRKs I've played with lately have been amazingly good. DRK/THF with sneak attack did wonders. She was a mithra with lots of + Accuracy equipment.
Now whenever I start a party I shoot for PLD, WHM, BLM, DRK, and 2 that are up for grabs. (I would do THF but I still can't find a NA THF that knows how to Yokodama well. I guess after the next patch that won't be an issue).

you mean as he tried to tank and keep hate with Soul Eater, or what? Used Last Resort? Used Soul Eater when he KNEW it wasn't gonna be stuck on the tank still?

I wanna use SE+WS BAD, I've been waiting months to do it, and first clip I see after I hit 30 is getting a SoD SE up their ass!

waaah do that crap to monsters like bark tarantula and they 1shot you. I died like 3 times in a party cuz i did soul eater/guillotine trying to kill it off faster. The best strategy I can reccomend is to activate it when a thf is using dama and leave it on until there are about 10 seconds left, then bust out your WS, hopefully the monster will be dead by then..if not....:dead:

Oh ya, and on a lighter note, today I died alot too, but I really saved the day with my soul eater, like we got a chain and our tank died, and it started going after the mages so it was only the theif and me left, so i had to resort to tanking it (she didnt' leave me much choice, she yokodama'd off me before i even knew what was going on >< ) so I had to bust out the blood weapon, saved my ass a little but then it was getting low on HP and i was in the red, so i was like "what the hell, lets go out with a bang" so i busted out the soul eater and guillotined its ass in red hp. Rest assured it died (miraculously all hits kicked in) and I actually survived at 1hp!

I'm really in the wrong thread. I'm a WHM/BLM mostly (do a littlebit barding).

But for me the most important is having a "good person." Usually once the team dynamics work well the group also does good xp'ing. But if I get good XPs and the party is just "no fun" (or simply unpleasant) I'm quick at simply leaving.

I have made PT picks against "perfection" but rather just because I know the person is a nice person.

It's a game. One of those days I'll look back and not care if I was lvl 50 or 60 or whatever. But rather at if I had fun.

                            Long story short: If you're a nice guy/girl, I don't care if you're a DRK or not.

Also: Consider doing some quests/missions or help other people do missions. I've build friendships (good PTs) that way. Asides it's fun too. Nothing but a good dragon fight or the glory of finding "the last key item" for the evening.

Or join a linkshell. I'm personally not in one but people say it's a good way to interact/help out.
