The LVL 58 BCNM earing is better than mermans earing, Acc+2 ATT+5, and no evaion down. you will want one of those in place of your merman.

Yes those Assault earrings are amazing... too bad you can only have 1

there is a -5 evasion stat on there. The only thing that makes Assault peice better than Coreal earring is it adds 2 accuracy. and an HQ coreal (Mermans in english i guess) is well over 1million gil, so good luck getting that! btw god setup, ie, Terry's setup XD:

Is DRK's defense really that bad?

On it's own, no. However, good equipment (mainly accessories) for DRK take away a lot of defense, as do the abilities used to charge up attack power. If DRK geared it's equipment towards defense, however, and ate defense food and used defense up abilities, DRK wouldn't do that much worse than WAR in terms of taking damage.

this is so true...

according to the strategy guide, DRK and WAR have the same VIT (3) and the WAR only has one pt more HP than DRK (4 to 3) in terms of stat progression in comparison to other job classes...

also they both have virtually the same starting stats for each race...

the main differences are that WARs get added defense pts as a job trait. but a DRKs can still accomidate this with VIT drains and a sub-class of WAR.....

plus both a WAR and DRK are capable of wearing the same armor/equipment....

like Awntawn said, the reason for the big misconception about a DRK's defense is that many of its attack buffs lower defense. and when the DRK buffs his attack power and ends up increasing his hate, he gets torn apart due to the lowered defense...

even though a DRK is primarily a "dmg dealer", he/she should definitely pick his/her moments for buffing the attack power in order to regulate hate and avoid pulling a beast when his/her defense is way too low to sustain the dmg....

err has anyone seen those level 70 earring for dark that reduce -20% physical damage taken? I think i will use assualt earring and that :-/

Obelisk hat is a rare ex item I spied on some high level galka beastmaster a whiles back. It looks lame, it looks just like the Fungus Cap, but the stats are even better then the Peacock charm! Accuracy+10, Ranged Accuracy+10 Evasion+10. HQ Hauberk seems to be the only piece that has extra accuracy and attack, truley the clothing of a god. I'm amazed Terry isn't a GM or something.

Oh ya and about the jse earring, the catch is its the "latent effect", which means it only has a possibility of activating that ability (which means its like 1/10 chance it will work whenever you get hit). As a rule of thumb "added effect" in gear is triggered more often and is better, thats why the earring is so cheap (>_<)

Quick question on GS. I'm lvl 24 now and using Barbarian's sword and I'm wondering should I wait till lvl30 to get Demonic Sword or if it's not available should I get hellfire sword instead ? :confused:

why not get the hellfire at lvl 27 then sell it at 30 to get the demonic one? if u have the money. You Don't loose much money from buying and selling weapons consistently.
