It is rather unusual, but think about it for a sec - if /BST can only charm half-level mobs, it's pretty much useless, since you can't Call Beast, and levelling/subbing BST just for Killer Traits is stupid. However, if you could charm EM mobs with /BST37, why take BST to 75? The way they chose to implement it makes the most sense.

True, true... but for the exception to the rule, the sub would be completely worthless.

/BST + NPC + Anniversary Ring. I wonder how long it would take me to solo to 37. (also need to solo SCH).

Soloing SCH to 37 could be a little more practical now thanks to the addition of Addendum: White, but I would just recommend partying it to 37 anyway, Erase comes too late in the soloing of the sub and there's still no Stoneskin to be had until the 50s or 60s depending on your sub.

Problem is I don't have much time to play on weekdays (probably around 2 hrs a day) plus I've been avoiding low lvl parties for some time now. <_<;

So I usually end up going on a rampage slaughtering ep-dc until the xp band wears off and then log.

OH~!!! how about DNC/BST? I'm sure it's at least one of the best options for
soloing. and when its BST's turn to level, well they are pretty much the best
at soloing. hmmm ya I just might consider DNC/BST. What's your point of view
about that combination?

I leveled DNC to 18 this weekend. I used mobs as pets for a few fights in La Theine but gave that up. I forgot what BST felt like pre-leave.... I ended up moving to Konschtat Highlands as I like that area better. To minimize downtime, I'd take on an EM or a DC, and then make my HP back up on EP's. EXP wasn't big, but it was consistant. When I hit lvl 15, I had zero downtime. Pre 15, I found myself only using /bst when I bit off more that I could chew. I dropped it at 15.

If I had it to do over again, I would have leveled MNK up and then DNC, but I can't deny the benefit of having a leveled BST for a subjob.

thanks! I'm leveling MNK now! I already seen two Dancers in my PT and they
both sub mnk. they are pretty amazing tanks. and movement doesn't even
cancel their 'magic'.
