I made a scholar, level 61 atm. I like the playstyle, with klimaform and the weather spells I pretty much do the same damage as a black mage, and healing is great on it as well. I got all the AF and am very glad my character is female ^^

While rdm is my all time favorite job, whm is NOT "one dimensional". You can not make that assumption if you haven't even leveled the job......and that means taking it all the way to 75.

So what exactly is the "other dimension" of a WHM, apart from healing/support (ie. healing, enhancing, and a little enfeebling)?

I don't consider their ability to cast Haste or Flash or even Banish a 2nd dimension. These are all White Magic. A WHM's one and only dimension is casting white magic. You don't have to level WHM to know that WHM can't be a DD. You don't have to level WHM to know that it can't tank. You don't need to level WHM to know that it can't do some of the things a RDM can do. Personally, I like playing WHM and I love having them in my party, but I like them for their "one dimension"...healing/support.

Regarding BLU as healer, which is the main topic of this thread,... It's not a question of "can", but rather a question of "why". Why would you want to be a BLU healer and/or why would you want one in your party? There's so many jobs that are better healers, and by gearing up for healing you are "ungeared" for DD, which is what you're designed to do. I've never been asked to main heal as BLU, and if I was asked, I would either change to another job or decline.

While I was working up my blu to 75, the only time I really healed was in those situations where your'e out partying in an ToAU area and its the only option. Say if your healer leaves and your leader is failing to find a replacement and decides to disband party. That when you drop the ol' "'Hold on their cowboy,' let me go equip /whm, some +mnd gear, and a light staff and I'll brb." I mean lets face it, BLU is not a "helaer" but since they can heal, I feel it is much more enjoyable then standing around with your flag up and complaing to yourself "why can't I get a party invite." But like most everyone said, you won't get invited as a healer, only as a DD with the ability to backup should something go a rye.

Ive only ever back up healed in emergencies, and I have played main healer in a couple of BCNM events along with Promyvion-Holla, the Promyvion was really just us screwing around as we didnt have enough ppl to run it, but with 4 ppl and me healing as a BLU/NIN we got the boss down to about 10% of its health before we all ran out of pots and I ran out of ethers haha

But I agree, subbing WHM and healing for a bit is a better option that standing around with your flag up. Ive never done it mind you, but then again I like to solo with FoV books atm while i wait, when i get up past those I'll probably focus on Campaign while i wait for a DD invite.

/WHM in a good MND setup, absolutely. I've seen Magic Fruit restore well over 800 HP.

I have main healed as BLU before /whm with another BLU who was /nin in Bhaflau Thickets on Colibri but together we managed to keep the party alive. Divine seal really helps when using Magic fruit.

It's not a nono, but It's not something your party is likely to want because of the risk and the fact MP might run out quickly.

It's not used very much, but it's not impossible.
