  • 7 hits to 100% tp?

    I have +30.0% tp build for BLU but I still going through numbers for the two sword combination for best tp gain. I know there are Guru of BLU around and I dont want to waste time if the end result is not worth it. Is it worth it to do 7 rounds to 100% TP as BLU/NIN?

    If every hit connects i can get to 100% TP in 26-28 seconds (according to my CA timers). Now that I have Savage Blade WS, I been using the sword with 100 TP bonus and I seem to be doing more damage than I have ever did.

    I dont have exceptional(L33t) equipement, that is why I asking because better equip BLU/NINs might do better than my BLU TP build.

    How exactly are you planning on getting a 7-hit (14.3 TP per hit) build with a one-handed weapon?

      I think he means using BLU/NIN, 7 swing rounds, not actual hits. Losrase, bear in mind that Store TP +# is not a direct addition to the amount of TP you get per swing, but a % boost, that is if you have +8 Store TP from Rajas/Brutal/Ecphoria/Chiv, you are getting a 1.08 multiplier on your normal TP gain, not 8 more TP per swing.

          Ok, with what I'd consider a 'standard' BLU/NIN setup focusing on sTP, would be looking at 2x 236 Delay swords, 20% DW(Trait + Suppa), +18 sTP(4 items from last post + trait). Combined Delay including DW reduction is 377, 9.7 TP/round -> 11.4 counting sTP, 6.28ish seconds per round, needing 9 swing rounds.

          So 57ish seconds to full TP not counting Haste if all hits connect if I didn't just totally fuck that math up like I did a few minutes ago, guessing the 30s is just a bad estimation.

                I did a few calculations:

                Beast Slayer and Martial Anelace = 476 total delay

                Dual Wield 2 + supp = 20%

                476 * .80 = 380.8 delay

                190.2 delay per weapon

                5.0 + [(190.2-180*6.5)/270] = 5.25 TP per hit

                30 store TP from blue spells and equipment

                5.25 * 1.3 = 6.825 = 6.8 TP per hit

                6.8 * 2 = 13.6 TP per round

                It looks like it is a 8 rounds (16 hits to get to 100% tp)

                I also have 14% haste from refueling and Swift belt

                Yellow mage: The way Ive been playing it is CA Savage Blade + Dissmemberment and when CA isnt up, I use Vorpal Blade

                  You need to truncate to 1 decimal place at every step
                  5.2 * 1.3 = 6.7 TP return per hit
                  ==
                  6.7 * 2 = 13.4 TP per round

                  And my final suggestion is to stay away from STP and concentrate on haste.
                  STP is not DWers' thing. It's not worth it to build such set.

                    Also, since Savage Blade is just an opener, I think Martial Anelace isn't super hot. You lose a lot of DPS in-between, and the tp bonus just propels it into the region of mediocre. If you're able to do Vorpal Blade every other WS, this is more reason to try to get an upgrade.

                      Dear God yes.

                      Savage Blade sucks so hard that a 25% boost to it still makes it suck. It's not worth gimping your normal damage.

                          How many times must I say that Dissector sucks? Senior Gold Musketeer's Scimitar will kick its ass any day of the week. I haven't done the math but Ifrit's Blade would likely be a better choice as well (because the +3 STR and +10 Attack will affect the fSTR and PDIF on both weapons.)

                            Dissector is pretty bad.

                            Even with enough weapon skill points for the latent, it's only as much damage as Ifrit's Blade or Musketeer Commander's Falchion, but without the cool bonuses.

                              Since we're on the topic of weapons and WS and stuff I'm wondering what is better?

                              A) Spam Vorpal Blade + DDs spells
                              B) save TP till you can do your own self SC (granted you can get away with 1 WS in 2 mins and have TP for your self SC)
