  • Blue Mage Macro Help!

Hi, I just started playing Blue Mage, but i have no clue how to macro everything,
    or simply what to macro.
So far I've spent most of my time trying to learn the spells (pollen took forever), and i have learned most the ones that ive tried.
But i havn't put in much thoughts to how to macro them.
    Thanks,
    Animateblade

    Re: Blue Mage Macro Help!

I never used macros for my blue until I learned Chain Affinity, the abilty to make ur next phyical BLU spell to work with another WS to make a SC. I just do this:

    Example:
    Weapon skill Red Lotus Blade
    /ja "Chain Affinity" <me>
    /wait1
    /ma "Uppercut" <t>

and you'll do self SC. But if you rather have them Macroed, I guess the best ones to so are, Pollen, Metallic Armor, and Bludgeon. Maybe even Head Butt for a quick stun.

to set up just a spell:

/ma "Head Butt" <t> or <bt> depending on how you play.

    Hope this helps a bit.

Macro's are good when solo- which Blu does very well.
I like to start attack, or pull with blu spell. Example
      For attack
      /ma "Wild Oats" <t>
      /wait 4
      /a

For pull you can use ranged blu spells, feather storm is the best
same as above, just put feather storm in place of wild oats.

This will be good practice to be able to use more spells and
      self skillchain later on.

Note: I never macro AOE attacks, hitting the wrong button can
cause you a lot of problems. I learned the hard way with battle dance.

        Something like

/echo Battle Dance -------------------------------------------- AOE WARNING
        /ma "Battle Dance" <stnpc>
        /equip optional gear swap

solves the problem of accidentally hitting AoE macros. The ----- in the echo line is good because it makes it much harder to miss the echo. I'm clumsy, so all my AoE spell macros on blm are of this form.
