  • Solo Skillchaining?

I'm about to start playing BLU and was curious how exactly this process worked. Can you spell + WS -> skillchain? or does this only work as WS + CA(Spell) -> skillchain (and vice versa)?

In other words, is the use of CA mandatory in either opening or closing a skillchain with blue magic?

    Thanks.

    Re: Solo Skillchaining?

CA is mandatory when doing self(solo) skillchains.

The process goes WS + (CA + physical blue mage spell)

CA is needed for the physical blue mage spells to become apart of a skillchain.

Basically, Physical blue spells only count as a Skillchainable WS if you use CA. However, when you use the spell, it uses up all your TP (however, you can still cast with 0 TP.) That's why for solo skillchaining, you can't do CA Spell -> WS.

I just dinged 40 not long ago, and can't figure out how to set up a macro to make it work right.

        /ws "weapon skill" <t>
        /wait 4
        /ja "Chain Affinity" <me>
        /wait 1
        /ma "chainable blue spell" <t>

        Nothing seems to happen.

I think yours isnt working because the extra 1 second delay + animation of Chain Affinity

          I use:

          /ja "Chain Affinity" <me>
          /wait 1
          /ws "weapon skill" <t>
          /wait 4

            Re: Solo Skillchaining?

I use one macro for CA & BA, and then hit a second macro for the SC spells. Seems to work pretty well for me. So CTRL 1 is the CA/BA macro, and the onces next to it are for Fusion, Gravitation, etc.

            Examples:

            CTRL 1: CA/BA
/party Blue Mage Skill Chain Ready
            /wait 1
            /ja "Chain Affinity" <me>
            /wait 1
            /ja "Burst Affinity" <me>

            CTRL 2: Fusion
            /ws "Red Lotus Blade" <t>
            /wait 4
            /ma "Jet Stream" <t>
            /wait 4
            /ma "Bomb Toss" <t>
            (Saiph on Sylph server)

This would in fact be the best way to set it up. You might want to add a piece fo party chat to let them know exactly what skillchain you are preforming though.

Not to mention not to try to SC it (or use any WS until you're done) because you are.

Good point. The last thing you want is a WAR letting off a Raging Axe in the middle of your SC screwing it up.
