a concerned "purple mage"

I have been soloing as blu/rdm(thus the term "purple mage") since my thf is only lvl 22(I hate lvling thf) and my nin is lvl 1(don't feel like spending 100-500k to lvl something I have no desire to lvl). The only job that wouldn't gimp me as a sub at lvl 50 is rdm, but from what I have been reading in some of the forums I am doomed for end-game with that combo. It seems like if I don't have either /nin or /thf I will never get any party invites(let alone accepted into any end-game LS's), but when I get to the proper lvls I would like to do Dynamis(at least). Am I correct in feeling that blu/rdm is bad for invites when I get to end-game or am I reading too much into a few threads. Lastly, are pick-up parties for end-game workable, or are they usually doomed to fail.



I know I am only lvl 50 and end-game is still a little ways off, but I would like to be somewhat prepared before I get much closer to being able to do them.

Yeah, you're pretty much screwed.

BLU/RDM is like a gimp BLU/WHM, and BLU/WHM is already situational.

You don't need 500k to level NIN. 12 Shihei toolbags are only 40k. And the ichi enfeebles are pretty weak for hate. I suggest you bite the bullet. Find a buddy that needs to level it too and either duo, or duo tank in parties.
