are there any pieces im absolutely expected to have. i've never really played a melee type job before so im not sure about what ring and earings i should have mostly....

btw im /drk for now (thats gonna' start some trouble lol)....

Well, like all jobs, don't rush it. Get every basic thing you need before you level, I mean, /drk .. really nothing to offer at your level. WHM / WAR / NIN / RDM / THF are most common subs, you don't have any of those?

And BLU is pretty basic, can get away with AF till the 70s, just focus mainly on ACC/STR/DEX/MP type gear. Common misconception, aswell, ATTK does NOT affect BLU phys/mag spells whatsoever. Either does weapon DMG.

Nothing really 'expected' to have, like DRK and Haubergeon, etc. SH is nice for TP gain, but AF body is better for spell casting, and it may be too much a hassle to swap in body before every spell, so don't worry much about that.

Most of your stats will come from spells/spell combo job traits and the such.
