Any soloable BCNMs lvl 40 and below

Has anyone experienced any BCNMs they could solo?

I've seen a Galka Blu/whm solo Charming Trio a few times on fairy for some astrals rings. but thats about it. anyone try anything else??

This one is just a random shot in the dark, you either win, or you lose some experience.

Essentially you walkin, cast RR, pick a chest. That chest might be a treasure or it might be a mimic with with wtfpwn you in a few hits. Few good prizes can drop from there. Of the 8 or so times I've done it, I've gotten the right chest 4 times, and notable drops were Astral Ring, Socerors Ring, and Quake.

Upto you if you wanna blow 50 seals. (I know you said 40 and below, but you can do this one on a level 1 job if you like, provided you can walk through giddeus safely)

As WHM50, I buffed with Reraise, Blink, and Stoneskin before picking a chest, which were more than enough to cover my butt while using a warp scroll.

I went 0/3.

Yeah, in that one you pretty much have a 33% chance of getting the right chest. Odds are more against you, so if you are guessing right then you are pretty lucky. Wouldn't say gamble on winning the lottery but maybe the smaller games you win decently on. >.>

You might try the level 30 and 40 BCNMs in Qu'bia Arena, Die by the Sword and Undying Promise.

The trick with Die by the Sword is that each weapon will only be hurt by one type of damage (blunt, piercing or slashing) and blu has nice damage spells that come in each flavor. I've never done it but reportedly they don't deal very strong damage, so between Cocoon, Auto-regen and your healing spells you might be able to tank all 3 while taking them down one at a time.

Undying Promise is against one skeleton mob that resurrects itself four times, twice as drk and twice as blm. Each time it reraises itself it starts out with 10% less hp. Bludgeon does absolutely retarded damage against bones because of the double damage bonus (one from being blunt, the other from being arcana) and Head Butt is very strong (again, because it's blunt damage) and can keep the blm's worst spells from going off. You can even equip Bludgeon+Smite of Rage to get the Undead Killer job trait. ^^

just tried this some notes to add (Undying Promise)

/nin definitely needed havent tried it yet however

went Blu/whm for extra mp figured this be a spam fest

1st form- I start casting cocoon from a fairly long range, it aggros to magic, as mentioned it starts off as drk and uses absorb spells, keep chaotic eye on it at all times.

Using a mp setup i had about 467hp and 420mp I'll go all melee gear next time

Ghau hit me for around 67ish and crit on 83s without cocoon

With cocoon- 44 regular and 67 on crit

2nd form- got it to around 83% before i wiped to hell slash again this nm starts 10% lower than the preceding form but it's power seems to increase slightly, also even though it reincarnates it will drop your auto-attack so lock and and keep slashing

Blood Saber= 86
Horror Cloud= 80
Hell Slash=90

not terrible but the nm needed debuffing again I slacked expecting an easy ride for gil only had sprout smack on it and spammed head butt and bludgeon with wild carrot on the side

meds- at least 3 hi pots and 2 yags food(didnt use any but i regularly use kabob i'd recommend jack o lanters for eva)

used the undeadkiller combo as well not one intimidation proc that i noticed but always keep it for him just in case

The nm isnt that bad it just requires attention to detail and keeping debuffs on
