Forgive me if this has been has been discussed, but are there decent alternatives to tarutaru RSE for BLU?

I ask as I really don't want my alt to resemble a christmas tree ornament.

You should be using Battle Gloves for BLU, the Accuracy and Evasion bonus from them own for AWHILE, I'm still using them on my RDM when soloing until I finally get my AF gloves. Either RSE boots or Bounting Boots would do well for feet.

There aren't THAT many equipment choices at that level honestly, not hard to pick.
