Sure it's not explicitly written ONLY,

but using some logic:
think why did they write "The TP information included in "physical" blue magic spells is applicable when using the job ability "Chain Affinity.""
Is it necessary for them to write it if TP also affects when BLU isn't using the chain affinity?

There is a caveat to this for using Azure Lore. Azure Lore gives you "fake" TP during Chain Affinity, so it doesn't matter how much TP you have when using Chain Affinity during an Azure Lore move, it will act as though you had 350%. Get your COR out, b/c if you can Random Deal this, you could get -two- moves at 350% TP which is definitely {Sweets}.

Other than that only Chain Affinity benefits from TP--and if you blow your wad on a WS to self-chain, you're SOL on TP. Therefore, if you can form an SC with another party member, that could be a reason to blow your TP on a Physical Spell, but if you're going for straight damage, throwing a WS and using CA to SC off it is probably a better option for straight damage--The damage boost from the TP on the CA spell will most likely not beat the damage on your WS+Spell+SC+Burst.

Therefore, in short... If the TP boost to the spell's damage is greater than the WS damage, use CASATA (spell)+BA Burst (Optional) with a partner. Otherwise, do your WS+CASATA (Spell)+BA Burst (Optional) solo.
