MND or INT???

  • MND or INT???

    What would be better to key in on MND or INT for blu? Or is there a better stat which helps BLU? Am I right in saying MND helps attack spells and enfeeble spells; And does INT help healing(or is it the other way around)?? Does it depend on the situation or are both of these always equally important?

    Stick to physical spells for the most part. +Accuracy to land your spells and melee hits, +Attack to increase your melee damage, +STR to increase both melee and spell damage. INT is a factor in most magical spells, but most magical spells suck early on.

      This has been tested by VZX, <a href="http://www.neko-sentai.com/images/BlumageNFO.htm">here</a>. Every spell has different attributes that factor into it.

      As a general rule of thumb, if it's a:
      melee physical spell, you'll want ACC/STR
      ranged physical spell AGI
      Magical spells INT
      Healing spells MND (and to a much lesser extent VIT)

      Note that Accuracy only makes sure the spell lands, and that Attack does nothing when figuring out the damage - the spells look at the stats themselves.

        It's not that the spells "look at the stats themselves;" it's just that instead of comparing your Attack to the mob's Defense, the game uses your Blue Magic Skill.

          Also, keep in mind that a lot of the breath-based attacks have a variance based on your HP (not sure if it's current or max, but still.) It might help to keep your HP total high, but not sure HOW useful.

            From what I can see, breath spells aren't generally more powerful/efficient than physical spells, but they seem to be MP-efficient as far as the magic spells go. I would assume they're very useful when fighting elementals and jellies. But yeah, that totally slipped my mind. While we're getting specific, may as well point out that spells that count as ranged attack (not all spells with range are ranged attack, by the way...Wild Oats has plenty of range and counts as melee) have very consistent damage and benefit twice as much from STR as other spells. Feather Storm served me very well in the teens and twenties, more than Bludgeon even (especially since I could get a piercing bonus out of it on mandies.)

              2 of the New spells, Mind Blast and Magic Hammer, are based off of MND, not INT like you might expect. Also, Magic Hammer only works on things with MP.
