Trick Attack not working with Blue Magic?

I noticed this. I hear that SATA is compatible with BLU spells (physical ones).
However, I noticed this-- It seems that Trick Attack won't work.

I use Sneak attack with Sickle Slash, it does around 230-270 damage.
I use Trick Attack, it does normal damage (74-100).
I use Trick Attack + Sneak Attack, and it still does 230-270 damage.

It's really weird. As a Taru with Sushi + 1, I have 42+14 DEX and 52+17 DEX.

Is this a glitch or a Nerf? Or am I just plain Gimped?

You're BLU/THF, right? Trick Attack doesn't add damage when subbed, it merely transfers all hate from that hit or WS (or spell.)

Yeah only sneak attack works on physical blu magic and only on single hit spells.

It works for multihit spells, but only the first hit, same as any other multihit WS.

Trick Attack only working on THF main is what help kept THF from being next to useless 60+ That and they toned down Sneak Attack damage when subbing THF also...

At what level does /THF really work out the best, I know you could start using it at 30 if you so desired, but how many worthwhile physical spells could you use with that by then?

I pretty much have all suitable BLU subs save for /THF and /NIN on my taru, I'm just trying to figure out a good time to work on them since /SAM and /WHM are in progress for the mithra right now on other jobs.

From the Blue Mages in my LS, they generally didn't get great results with Sneak Attack until Mandibular Bite at level 44. They also indicated Uppercut (level 38) and Jet Stream (38) were both disappointing with Sneak Attack, even after Chain Affinity at level 40.

Well, I found SA+Screwdriver good enough that I preferred it to any other sub, but that isn't really saying much because no sub offers you terribly much as BLU DD in the 30s. (Although I never did test the rumor that Berserk doesn't increase your blue magic damage. If it *does*, then /WAR would probably be better.) Then I moved up to SA+Smite of Rage.

They're not SATA+Viper Bite by any means, but you don't need TP to use them and you're also doing more regular swing damage plus other blue magic (damage, enfeebling, possibly healing), so it wouldn't be reasonable to expect the single hit damage of a THF on top of everything else BLU can do.

Exactly. I used SA+Screwdriver and it was usually very powerful, especially in CN for some reason. I have no idea why, as crawlers have no weaknesses to aquan or piercing moves. SA+Jet Stream had its moments, and it DOES help an SC (though even with a really good tank, closing fusion with a SA+Jet Stream ripped hate like it was nothing, so I would advise against it except in the event of the thing really needs to die ASAP).
