Congratulations. It's really not a bad spell, just not as good as bludgeon for most of its life. And for what it's worth, it does combine with Foot Kick to make the Lizard Killer job trait, which could be nice if you're exping on raptors or I suppose fighting adamantoise.

Yeah, you can learn spells from Too Weak mobs, but I've had much better luck learning from mobs in the DC-T range. There have only been one or two spells I didn't learn in the first three tries that way, often I learn on the first.

Personally, once you reach a certain point, you're either gonna need help with getting spells or take to just destroying the mob with spells.

As an example, when I was learning Claw Cyclone, I would go BLU/WHM, get buffs (Protect, Cocoon, and Metallic Body) then use Wild Oats and Dia, then just stick to a regimen of Head Butt and Bludgeon. If it used it, great. If not, it's not like they don't respawn. Of course, as I progressed and got more spells (such as Jet Stream), I began using those.

Then there are some spells that, for whatever reason, are just annoying and are either not used often or just take a while to learn. Case in point: Terror Touch. I was in Gusgen killing Bogies for like 3 hours, and I'd only seen the move maybe 3 times. A lot of the problem is getting them to use the move. Mobs with a lot of specials just have a lower chance of using it compared to, say, a Goblin using Bomb Toss.

/jphax and other variants (/jpbutton, etc.) are just jokes with regards to how Japanese players seem to have it so easy in this game. It's not an actual command, unfortunately.
