blu's role?

I am going to become a blu soon and I was just wondering, what role do they play in a party and just in general?

I've had this same question, the answer I've found just through playing one (I'm only lvl 32 right now) is they are mainly DD/enfeeble but mainly DD. Just becareful because you can easily pull hate if you aren't careful.

You can do lots of different things as BLU especially at low level. BLU/WAR makes excellent tanks for Dunes parties, but later on Cocoon doesn't keep up with PLD.

For the most part we're DD, straight up, but at lower levels we're more flexible to do other things.

In the Dunes I've seen them do a lot of things. Like Tank, DD, Main heal, etc. They're very flexible at the low levels. I'm not sure how much they change post 20 but they're probably only be DD.

BLU can do pretty much everything 60+ except cast Refresh (on others anyway).

BLU/WAR: Main tank that can use Cocoon (Def +50%), Magic Fruit (Cure IV), Feather Barrier (Eva bonus), Awful Eye (STR down), Sandspin (Acc down), Warm Up (Acc/Eva bonus), and various other spells. This works very well, and I have heard that they can keep up with Paladin.

BLU/DD: A DD role, I hope you know how to play this. Mainly /NIN or /THF.

BLU/WHM: This can main heal with Magic Fruit (Cure IV), Healing Breeze (Curaga II), White Magic, and several other spells.

In all, BLU can play pretty much any role you want.

Blu is extremely flexible in what it can do.. even a blu/whm can still dd very well, and will often pull hate from the main tank, thats's nothing bad about the tank, it's just that BLU is that powerful.
We can do some amazing things even at higher level.
If you arent sure what a blu is fully capable of, try a 5blu, cor or brd PT one day. It's amazing.
I duo alot now with many blu/bst it works great being able to solo/duo in aht urghan areas. I'll most likely level bst as main sj to blu one day.
