    Re: Soloing BLU

Actually soloing gets good again around 62 when you can kill T Colibri outside al Zahbi. Just involves a lot of Head Butting and a nice MP Drainkiss in the middle of the fight. I almost never go /nin but for this it worked really well.

I've also found that at 63 you can solo the EM-T imp that is directly east of the east Nashmau exit. This guy was easier than the colibri as long as you take echo drops, and you could probably do it as early as 61. This is a great way to learn Frenetic Rip if you can't get help. Only downside is that there is only one spawn every 5 min. There are more imps to the west of Nashmau but they are a few levels higher.

Anyone know where to fight in the low 50s? I've been having really bad times with parties lately.

      Hm.

I cant really can't say an exact places to lvl but I would advice taking BST type beastmen's pets for very fast and easy xp (if you can pull them right ^^).

Searching http://ffxi.somepage.com/ is always a good way to find mobs, just type " 's " into the mob search bar and it shows all pet and you can filter out NM's and such ^^.

If they don't take your fancy then search by mob type based on your strongest spells, the old classic Bludgeon Vs Bones comes to mind.

Hope some of this helps, my solo BLU escapade has been put on hold till I can get a few NM drops or win some BCNM's

The Gobbies pets (leeches) in Gustav are about the right level to be fighting in the low 50s. I cruised through there as a BST...

            RedX,
In the 14-17 range you said you never knew soloing T mobs was so easy. Which mobs were you fighting? I gave up on getting Wild Oats until i go to Tahrongi for healing Breeze off of the Dhalmels...but my set up right now at 11BLUE (200 or so to 12, battle Dance 4tw!) looks like this:
            Foot Kick
            Sprout Smack
            Power Attack
            Pollen
            Sandspin
            Cocoon
            Queasyshroom
            Metallic Body

Basically all of the spells under level 12, minus Wild Oats. I normally put up Metallic Body, rest for full MP, Cocoon, then grab a Tough. But even then...i usually use Sprout Smack to slow them down, Sandspin to drop accuracy, and if my Sapara seems to not be doing a lot of damage, i'll use power attack/sprout smack once or twice. Anyway, I can kill them for the most part, but i have no MP and low health afterwards. What the heck were you fighting?

I was in Ghelsba Outpost from 8-11, Metallic Body, whack or provoke an Orc/Lizard, then train about 8 mobs all together, Sandspin, selbina milk, sandspin 3 more times and they were usually dead. all EP-DC for 30-60 exp each...was decent exp. I had to full rest MP after that, but still. it was fun. I cant wait to do it somewhere else on harder mobs, spamming Sandspin and Battle Dance ^^

              Nice necro XD

Thinking back I’m pretty sure I used Head-Butt A LOT during EM-T fights, stunning not only stopped the mobs from attacking so much but a lot gave me enough time to recast cocoon (this overrides the Dhalmels Def-Down move, which overrides cocoon).

I didn’t have a lot of expensive equipment back then and only started soloing to get the spells I needed but by the time I had healing breeze it was time to get the next set of spells, like Bludgeon.

Edit: I started taking on Dhalmels at lvl 14 but alot chained a few crawler's for fun, just checking each target before helped so much, if i couldn't find an EM then go for a T with -def or -eva.

i sat in Tahrongi for 4 hours trying to learn feather storm while killing crawlers, mandies, and yagudo. I could take a T, but really was never able to chain them. Had a few close calls (mainly with the melee mobs that conned Tough), but all in all i survived well. metallic Body....i provoked a crawler becaues there were 2 near it...but not close enough to link. Anyway, when provoke went off....i guess i was lagging, because i had 3 Tough crawlers on me. I ran to the Mea telepoint like a bat out of hell...survived too !
