Blue Mage Pulling the Stings ENM ..Results.

Last night I attempted the Solo ENM "Pulling the Strings"
It's the ENM where you basically fight a weakened version of Maat, in the Form of a mannequin that mimics your Job, they have about 4k HP and will generally have every stat and power you do.

The test is to Defeat the NM using your Head along with your Powers.
These Pics Below are What I Did during the fight. I never Even went below Half my HP. and Got really lucky On the Goblin's Dice roll.
But even if his roll wasn't there I took enough meds to ensure a win.

Stack of Mulsum
Icarus Wing, used this at start.
4x Hi Potions
2x Ether
2x Hi Ether
1 Persikos Au lait
1 Sole Sushi
4x Melon Juice

Full Blue Af
Royal Knights Belt

That +3 str ring "can't remember the name"

I only healed myself once the entire fight.
I used both Ethers and 2 mulsums,and a Hi Potion, I was Very surprised at this and a free 2k EXp, I'll be doing this every 5 days to supplement My EXP.
The Blue Mage Chakram drops from this fight also so, It's a good thing to do.
No drop for me but, I'll keep trying.

How do you start this ENM? I've never done one, so I wouldn't know.

Its level 60 cap. You have to trade 1-10000 gil to the goblin in the entrance of Oldton. He then roles a die and you have to get below 50 (if you bet the max). Then you can pay him 2k if you win to go to the fight. The fight is solo and you do not have a sub job. There is a mannequin of your same job that you fight while a goblin rolls a die that either gives you buff or the mannequin. These fights are not easy for most jobs. These things have alot more hp than you do and it seems like the gob rolls in its favor most of the time. They are fun though.

Very interesting, thanks for taking all the screenshots btw, it helped me visual the battle for myself. I think i will try that out when my bluemage gets to lvl 60 soon.

It looked like your Vorpal Blade did more damage than your Death Scissor, yet you did not mention it in your post. Why?

This is the first time I attempted this as a Blue Mage, so I was more looking into the spell affects rather than the weaponskill effects itself.
If you look again also Jet Stream was the most damaging spell I used and the short recast on jet stream made it worthwhile.

I attempted this the other night and Won again, The next time I do this fight I'll make a video of it so you can get an idea of how I go about it. That will be a better visual aide than screenshots, My next attempt is thursday at 4am ^^, So I wont attempt it until Friday afternoon.

Seeing taizirai got me thinking that I could try for some quick EXP...so I gave it a whirl.

Went in with:
3 Hi Potions
2 Yagudo Drink
1 Pesoks
1D Muslim

Used:
1 Hi Potion
2 Yag drinks
1 Pesko
1 Bream Sushi

Equipment:
Msk. Commander's Falchion
AF Head, Body, Gloves, Legs, Feet
Spike Necklace
Enhancing Earring
Bat Earring
Aura Mantle
Jaeger Ring
Life Belt
Rajas Ring

Spells Equipped:
Headbutt
Jetstream
Uppercut
Self-Destruct
Cold Wave
Chaotic Eye
Stinking Gas
Frightful Roar
Feather Barrier
Sandspin
Cocoon
Metallic Body
Light of Penance
Magic Fruit

This really was very simple. I was under medication from a failed Dynamis Lord run so I couldn't use an SC right off the bat. Head Butt = I Win spell. Use it whenever it is up and the Mannequin will hardly ever cast. I only got hit by Cold Wave while activating a Hi potion. General tips are recast Cocoon when you can, spam Headbutt and Uppercut. I went with Red Lotus Blade -> Jet Stream (600+ Combined damage). Seriously though...mid way through his HP I was barely in yellow and about 200 MP left. Goblin did roll in my favor a bit though (mostly defense boosts, 1 TP Boost, and he gave the puppet 1 TP boost).

Goblin rolling asside, this is an easy way to make 2000 EXP
