I need help from a high level Blue Mage!!!

I recently started this game because my friend wanted me to play. My friend doesn't know much about Blue Mage but he said it would be a good idea to get something level 60+ first so I know what abilities to get. The problem is I really don't want to wait that long.

I was hoping someone could give me a list of recommended spells until at least level 60ish. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Well unfortunately, you can't get blue mage off the get-go. You need to level a job to 30 first, then you'll be able to unlock it.

My advice to you would be to level whm/blm/rdm to 30, just to get a feel for the mage jobs and see how you like it.

No, what I meant was, I was hoping to get a list of recommended spells for BLue Mage from 1-60.

Just look at the other threads on bluemage. Since it's a fairly new job, everyone's talking about the spells to a great extent.

I was looking at the Blue Mage learning guide just a second ago. Can you have ALL the spells on the list by the time you are level 75?

If you take the time to go out and learn them, absolutely.

edit: There are several useful subjobs. And most BLU have a few at their disposal in order to maximize their potential. WHM, NIN, THF and even WAR are all useful options at different points.

You can learn all the spells, yes, but you can't cast them all whenever you want. You have to pick which ones you want to be able to use, but you can always change your list depending on what you need to do.

You can certainly know all the spells up to level 30 when you're 30, provided you take the time to go out and get them (and some are difficult to get).

You have a number of points that will increase as you level. You select a number of spells from your available list to have at the ready, and different spells costs a different amount of points. So since you have a limited number of points, you can't assign every single one of your spells. You have to pick and choose from the ones you have as to which ones you need right then.

Ok I think I have almost got it. You can learn every spell, but you have to assign them to fit the current situation.

Like you can learn Foot Kick then un-assign it, and then re-assign it at a later point?

It's always in your "known spells" list. You just can't have every single one of your spells "equipped" at one time. So, you'd just have to "unequip" a spell or two in order to make room for one that you'd like to use.
