Post 50 gear

Hey all, been awhile. I was looking at most of the gear, lvl 50+ and it seems that most of the stuffs are not worth getting except a lvl 55 armor forgot how to spell it apparently from ToAU stuffs. While some of the gears seem to look interesting (lvl 51-54) practically they aren't that much better than Brigandine...any opinion on it?

As for a new sword... a rdm recommended to get wiz. something sword lvl 55 but there is a a sword for blu only at lvl 55 Kidij (sp?) I believe.

I sub /war btw if that can help in giving an opinion.

Well since AF is coming out I'm holding off on getting any more gear until I know what the stats on AF are. Right now I'm looking at getting a Justacorps and a Black Cotehardie, though.

As for a sword, Musketeer Commander's Scimitar > all. 36 DMG, 236 Delay, and 3 Acc.

The Kilij sucks for damage, however its been suggested that it may assist in learning spells. Through testing of my own I'd have to say I can't refute this - since using it, I've gone 1/1 on Eyes On Me, Maelstrom, Dimensional Death, Death Scissors, and 1000 Needles. 1/8 on Bad Breath, and 1/5 on Magic Fruit with Kilij also (0/25 on Magic Fruit without it)

I forgot to check black coterhardie. I have a jaridah and scrop harness in waiting though. Yeah i do hope AF does something because for head, hands, feet, and legs nothing stands out till 70(dusk, tarquse mitts, optical hat maybe, alky bracelets). Maybe full AF would give a set bonus....blue magic acc up?

most probably they gonna give us mage stats for our af....
by the look of toau assault eq for blu show its all mage stats and nothing melee.

I think it would be more of a mixed bag, blu can't wear zenith after all but only crimson. Which is of course a mixed bag.

crimson has nothing much except rng acc which we cant range well, a few dex agi n hp which dont help. DD stats = STR ATK ACC beside all this it dont help much to damage.

The bold is just what is directly effecting magic.

Crimson armor is really an all around set, even if the bonuses for it aren't really better than other EQ, it is equip for a melee mage. And pretty much anyone else for that matter.

Hmmm yeah, I thought of blue being already all rounded and the way SE describes the job:
"Attacks opponent at long range with spell and fight with the sword at close range"

The AF will probably add bonus to melee and magic.

I guess, I am just gonna get some stuffs to get me by, AF will be out in a few days now.

all the bold stats are mage stats...
we talking abt dd stats. blu cant enfeeble well.
And that stats u given is a full set of crrimson. I rather use my current eq for better dd stats then those all round stats which in the end add up to doing nothing much.

At 50, you can use the cerise doublet, although this requires a JSE subligar from the fomors near taznavian safehold or in the aqueducts, but its totally worth it until lvl 55 (Jaridah peti)

As for headgear, empress hairpin, Valkyrie's mask and mrc. cpt. headgear (only as a swap for when i use SA +spell since its a garantied hit i swap all my accu for STR)

I personally used my RSE for a very long time for hands/feet/legs (im elvaan), and thats about it about specific gear. The rest are rings for every situation, spike earrings, i use Musketeer Commander's Scimitar for my main weapon, and before that i updated to darksteel falchion at 52 or 53 (dont remember) from the +1 crafted lvl 43 sword from bastokian CP. Hope that helps.

That's the point. Crimson is a lot more than "Some RACC and DEX and AGI"

It might not be *heavy* melee gear, but it *is* melee-mage gear.

cool didn't know that we could wear the Cerise doublet(other new jobs are out of luck). To bad i still have to get my gaudy harness before i can switch, but I'm real close to jaridah(54 now) so I might pick up the doublet for fun later.
