    Venom Shell

    Is there any way to get this spell solo at 42? I tried to get it .... but somehow... those uragnites have a lot of HP, I used 12 antidotes and ran out of mp didn't even manage to get the thing down to 75% of his HP.

    Or I am better off asking for help on that one?

    The way I personally kill the Uragnite type mobs is this (solo):

    Charm them, then make them fight mobs till they're almost dead (as they can't go into their shell while charmed), then leave them and kill them myself (is how you farm the drops efficiently).

    I would presume, Blu/Bst or a duo of you would be able to do this efficiently by fighting one till it uses the ability, then charming it, making it fight the ooze mobs, and then using leave on it (as you should still have a chance of learning - as it's not been CFH on). Or.. visa versa.. charming it down to low health, and trying to get the spell that way.

      The uragnites that appear on the boat are weaker than the ones on Purgablabla isle. Dunno if that helps you though.

      Also, you know to unload all your DMG when it's not shelled, right? I think it'd be hard to pull off one of those BLU self SCs on one, since it seems big numbers make it retreat into it's shell fast. so your WS to open SC would prolly send it into it's shell amounting in a very unimpressive closer and SC.

          I was soloing them at 40, albeit they were very, very close fights. The one I learned it on I think I used a stack and a half of antidotes, lmao. I actually went as /NIN though /THF probably would have been better, just have your trigger finger on Bludgeon and get ready to nail it when it comes out of its shell. When you build your TP, what I ended up doing was SC'ing a little bit before it came out, hoping that it would come out after the WS, and then hit the CA'd bludgeon or Jet Stream just as it comes out. Takes a lot of antidotes and a little luck, but it's definitely possible. Went 1/3 on Venom Shell doing it that way.

            BLU/WHM ftw!

            So you can poisona yourself.....makes the fight way easier...I had a tough time with BLU/RDM because of the poison, but after switching my sub to WHM....way easier.

            It still takes a bit of time to kill them, but it was way easier. I think I did it at level 42-44 or so.

              I did blu/whm but ended up teaming up with someone that had a couple 70's+ with them. The regen was a killer solo so I never actually killed one by myself.
