      So what would you recommend subbing at lower levels like 1 - 40? Thf isnt that good yet since trick attack isnt available. So mainly only rdm and whm is an option.

        Re: SPAZZ's BLUE MAGE GUIDE

        1-40 has some option... but like you said /thf isnt the best because of no SATA.
        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        1-10 I would do /whm or /rdmfor a little extra help with curing yourself and enfeebling.
        10-20 I would do either /war /whm /rdm or /mnk. /war and /mnk give some extra stat increases which are nice and usefull... where as the mage subjobs help support the party.
        20-30 I would go /nin for dual wield damage dealing. Pick 2 decent swords and just have at it. Other options are /war /whm /rdm /mnk.
        30-40 I would either go /thf for just Sneak Attack or /nin for dual wield damage dealing.
          I've used /thf since lvl 1 I love it, steal, evasion bonus, dex/agil, gilfinder, treasure finder. i'm 33/16 atm, I can tell ya this, ya no TA, but even with SA my "physical" spells have some nice added dmg, SA + bludgeon is quit fun, at 38 will be SA + Jetstream! I can't wait.
              Re: SPAZZ's BLUE MAGE GUIDE
              Hello!
              The Blue Mage guide is great, but what Final Fantasy did they first put the Blue Mage job in as a selectable job?
              Please respond asap,
              Miara
                I believe it was final fantasy V who had the first blue mage then the idea kept on going with final fantasy VI, VII etc
                  If he's taking money and not asking for items then you didn't answer correctly. The right answers seem to be different for everyone, though there are some combinations like the one in this guide that seem to work more often than others. Wait another day and try answering differently. A lot of people have said that choosing the 3rd answer on every question worked for them so you might try that.
                                Re: SPAZZ's BLUE MAGE GUIDE
                                The original post is pretty descriptive regarding the strengths and weaknesses of various subs and how they affect your ability. You should be able to figure out what to sub from reading that.
                                Which sub is "best" depends on a lot of things, primarily your level range, the jobs of the other people in your party, and your personal playing style. If you want an answer to "should I switch" you need to provide a little more context.
                                If your real question is "Should I level rdm or thf as the one and only sub for my blue mage?" then there is no right answer because the question is already wrong. If you want to be the best blu you can be then you need to have multiple subjobs leveled to be flexible and best meet the needs of whatever party you're going to. No one sub is going to outshine all the others in every situation.
                                If that sounds like too much work for you, then it's entirely possible to level blu with only rdm, whm or thf available to sub, though thf will be pretty useless until level 30. I've also seen people take /nin all the way to 75, though as discussed the benefits of that subjob are pretty weak on paper. If you're going to limit yourself to only one subjob though, there's almost no point in considering which is better, since no matter what you pick you're going to run into a situation where that choice is dismally suboptimal.
