BLU Info Needed!

Hiya

I have decided to come bk to FFXI somtime within the next 2 weeks YAY

I have my expnasion on order and my new arriveing but I can't decide between Puppet Master and Blue Mage, The only Sub Jobs I wanna sue are WHM BLM or SMN so would BLU be able to use any of these subs?
Also whats BLU like for partys? What do they do? Does it take ages for pt's?

Also any info that would be helpful wouldbe great

Neither jobs would work well with those sub jobs. Although Puppetmaster does have access to a few mage pieces of gear, people seem to agree the best sub is either Monk or Warrior. For Blue Mage the general consensus is Warrior or Ninja sub job.Any other sub job might be nice for soloing, but in parites you need to pick a niche and fill it.

Ahh, the Blue Mage subjob game. Honestly, I still regularly see a wide assortment of subjobs in use on Ramuh.

/whm seems to actually be the most common I've seen with /nin gaining popularity past level 40. I myself have been using /drk and enjoying it a fair bit. I wasn't impressed with /nin, but I'll be trying it again soon I'd imagine.

Of course, from the 3 Lv. 60+ Blue Mages on my server at this moment, all of them are BLU/THF, undoubtably for SATA.

Blue Mage is still new enough that you could likely get away with the subjob of your choice, as long as it's not something dreadfully moronic. I don't think subbing WHM or even BLM/SMN would drastically decrease your chances of getting an invite. Since BLU seems to be fairly customizable, with the right spells I'd imagine you could become very useful with whatever subjob you decide to go with.
