Yes, you can use two blu magic spells to make a skillchain, but you can't self-renkei that way since Chain Affinity would have to be up for both spells.

i havent got to 40 yet but u saying you cant use a wep skill like fastblade and chain off that

No, you can self-renkei that way. But you have to do it in the order WS > magic. If you do the magic first, it drains your TP so you can't use the WS, but you can use magic to close the chain even with 0 tp.

I was just saying that a single blue mage cannot use blue magic to open and close a renkei.

Are the chance to crit type blue spells like Screwdriver and Sickle Slash any good in practice? Glancing over Aden's new skillchain chart, I didn't see any blue magic that was both a solid "damage varies by tp" type skill and a skillchain closer.

Sickle Slash and Screwdriver seem really random. Sometimes I can get 200 with Screwdriver, but most of the time I get 50. Sickle Slash seems decent, around 80 - 100 average I'd say.

I've had a couple requests for that in the past...I keep avoiding it but I guess since so many people seem to want that, I probably should. Lemme hit 40 BLU first though, 1500 tnl xD

Updated, added Sword and Club WS's as well. Confirmed Screwdriver priority and Dimensional Death. Still need testing on the following:

58 - Flying Hip Press
62 - Body Slam (likely has multiple SC traits)
63 - Frypan
63 - Hydro Shot
63 - Spinal Cleave (likely has multiple SC traits, possibly 3)
69 - Hysteric Barrage (likely has multiple SC traits)
69 - Tail Slap
