Favorite spell?

So what's yours? At first, I was all with the Bludgeon crew...till I picked up Feather Storm again in a mandy party. Constant Damage > Big damage to me, and a constant 40-50 every 12 mp was a very nice conversion to me.

Mind you...I'm in Yuhtunga Jungle and it might change later on...but for right now...the Feathers just work great.

Bludgeon is great at low levels, but it scales badly at higher levels on non T and below enemies. It's not very hot on VT and IT. Many people dismiss Jet stream, but jet stream is ranged and much more powerful than bludgeon on VT and IT, not to mention it's very good for your fusion chain.

Off the top of my head - the most useful skills I have are:
Healing Breeze
Magic Fruit (Five star rating)
Dimensional Death (HUGE damage)
1000 needles (just for fun)
Frightful Roar (GET this)
Refueling
Jettatura

Big letdowns - sound good, end up horrible:
Bad Breath (slow, expensive, not worth it)
Radiant Breath: Not worth it.
Any drain move

"Meh" skills:
Geist Wall: Resist resist resist resist resist resist
Chaotic eye: It used to be a great silence, then they fixed the bug that made it so you didn't have to maintain eye contact. (same reason makes Jettatura less useful now - but Jettatura is still fun - it's like instant freeze-frame photography action)

It occurs to me: Who bothers stackign up inteligence when they use their drain skills? I know I dont and I usually dont drain much more than 18 at level 21. However alot of these skills are stat-dependant based on what angel of physical of magical job they have. Of course healing spells as usual have a soft cap, however other skills that are preforming horribly may just be because of a bad focus of stats.

Lets start doing some major stat testing with the blue mages we have, a good way to do this is to use food to boost certain stats specifically. My theory on how certain blue magic angels is as such.

Physical Blue Magic (Close Range) Physical Accuracy , Dex, Strenght

Physical Blue Magic (Ranged) Ranged Accuracy, Agi

Offensive Mage Blue Magic: Int, Magic Attack Bonus

Defensive/Healing Blue Magic: Mind, Curing Potancy + for healing.


All this seems to make good sence now that we think of it, gear for the type of spells you want to use the most and work from there. Lets see if we cant get "Bad Breath" and "MP Drainkiss" to work better.

Well at my lv solo bludgeon dose up to 200 dmg to dc - tough mobs that one also i like in stick situation when soloing a high t if i know i will run out of mp soporific,sheep song works nice then there are the cool looking ones i like to mb with like bomb toss and blastbomb i experienced main healing for about 2k exp when doing that healing brezze is awsome, that something a smn dont have ability to use a curaga till 32. Each are just as good and have there own purpose so really dont have a favorite.

Yes.

Not worth it most of the time though.

Mine would have to be Sandspin. I've never had so much fun lvling 1-5 before. 1 spell killing 4 {Decent Challenge}'s at once is so empowering.

Claw cyclone, feather storm and Poison breath are doing great for me =) (By the way, maybe its just me, but when i use Burst affinity, my magical spells seem to do more damage/get less resisted =o)
