  • IMPORTANT: SE did NOT lie to you.

The other thread is VERY misleading.

S-E did NOT lie to you. They just have a terrible translation team.

    NA POL site:
    - You will not acquire blue magic if you are KO'd when a monster is defeated, or the defeated monster does not yield experience points.

North Americans: OH NOES! Too weaks don't give exp, ergo you can't learn skills from them - yet you can! BUGGGGG!

Now let's look at the same line on the Japanese POL site:

    JP POL site:
    ○モンスターを倒した際に、戦闘不能状態だったPCや、経験値の取得範囲外にいたPCは、特殊技をラーニングすることはできません。

Translation: When defeating the monster, Player Characters that are KOed or outside the radius where exp is awarded (i.e. do not get exp) cannot learn skills.

There you have it: Shoddy translation teams. JPs have known from the start that you can jolly well learn skills off too weaks if you like and it is NOT A BUG. STOP REPORTING IT AS A BUG.

So stop the histrionics now, please.
I believe most sigs are like the people they represent - useless, loud and obnoxious.

So its actually if you get the "You are too far away to gain experience points." message. Makes sence. If you're so far away you wouldn't be able to see the technique to copy it.

Re: IMPORTANT: SE did NOT lie to you.

The thread I created was simply informing people that SquareEnix's little release statement on how things worked was false, thus giving false information people were using. . . Furthermore; I stand by my thread in that it does state factual and non debatable information on Blue Mage and how it works. The ONLY thing I regret about the entire thread was that I could have made the title better....

Other than that... all you have done is give another translation of the same information we all now know. Is it appreciated, of course. Was it needed, for some people yes.

Re: IMPORTANT: SE did NOT lie to you.

I don't have the patience to explain to you how the process of translation works, and the difference between a lie and a misunderstanding. Your old thread exhausted all the patience I had about 10 hours ago. So I'll just nod my head and move onto another topic.

Even if you can speak, read, write fluent japanese/chinese, if the context of the thing is wrong. you've just translated nonsense.

japanese = contextual tongue, meaning is VERY important.

The time will soon come that we will be able to run the JP patch notes through bable fish and get better understanding then SE can translate for us.

I am wondering how mutch work it would be for someone here that is fluent in japanese to compair the NA and JP patch notes and post here possible misstranslations.

No Ifs Ands or Buts about it.
