  • low level Party tactics: Rest for MP? Stand for TP?

    Hey

So I had my first party as BLU in the dunes yesterday (level 13) and I was trying to decide what role I was gonna play.

Setup was RDM WHM BLU NIN NIN COR.

I figured we needed damage but I was equipped for tanking... (dunes always needs tanks right?...?)

Anyways I was kind of unsure how I should handle my MP/TP levels. Are you guys resting in between pulls? standing like melee and participating in skillchain then rest afterwards? I decided not to skillchain and keep tp over 100-150% for my magic.. i didn't notice a difference in damage and resists so I'm wondering what everyone else is doing.

I would advise bringing your own jucies if you can make them for those lvls. Even 1 MP a tick helps out. If you can make those yagudo drinks even better. You can use Pollen and Enfeebles for additional hate. Also makes tanking . . .. . more like tank/do something else ^^

I think it's the best solution for the TP and MP aspect.

Low level BLU magic costs peanuts for MP. No need for Yagudo Drink, just bring some pineapples and water crystals and make pineapple juice. Very space-efficient, good return on MP and investment. You can make 12 bottles of pineapple juice with 2 stacks of pineapples and 1 stack of crystals. Just synth in between battles (but watch out for AoE buffs which might miss you due to synthing, or break your synths)

There's no need to save TP for your blue magic before level 40. The TP effects listed on your spells only take effect if the ability Chain Affinity is in effect.

The same goes for MBing at 25; its kinda like a smn; the tp adds to the dmg. At 25 it is worthwhile to get tp for 2 reasons; get tp to start/end a SC, and then MB normally with burst affinity, or you can let others use their tp to make the SC, and then burst with additionnal dmg with your built up TP. But yeah, since the question is low lvl, id say act according to how you are set up, it all depends on your food, sub and gear.
