    Re: Blue Mage issues

Parties in quifm are quickly learning how limited Blue Mage healing in a party actually is. I personally think that trying to implment even the slightest idea of this is to be discouraged. Though I can understand the use of /whm for status removals, a true white mage could manage this even better than any other jobs (Hello Devine Veil)

I am also enteraining the prospect of perhaps subbing Samurai for the addional TP gain abilities for later levels, making it easier for my blue mage to Weapon Skill ontop of his physical blue magic.

However how this actually works pratically in comparison to use uses of /nin /blm /smn and /war (I am becomming less and less interested in /war as I have discovered that Attk+ does not work on physical Blue Magic, meaning Beserk would only effect our physical attacks... I would like bonuses that are a little more wholistic.) If anything I see the use of /nin 30+ to become the most dominate use, with /war /blm and /sam fighting for second. (/war with the idea that the blue may be a backup tank)

Divine Veil isn't until 50 though. Other status removal can be done as effectively as a /whm. Whm main gets -nas earlier but /whm still gets them by the time they're needed. Whm doesn't really excel at status removal until Erase comes into play.

Do people really use smn as a sub for blu? What for? Just the extra stats and MP? I could see /blm having some use for Conserve MP and M.A.B, but /smn?

      Is wholistic a real word?

Don't completely rule out /WAR for now. Berserk may not have an effect on the physical blue magic but it does on the meeleing rounds in between. Also the double attack looks quite yummy to me, but then again I'm not sure of the proc rate of Double Attack.

          Re: Blue Mage issues

Double Attack DOES sound nice, and would be better damage dealing wise than a straight dual weild would do, however the idea of dual weilding stats or subbing samurai later levels to increese TP usage both really stick hard with me as very good methods.

But that's the glory of this job class, I can do any job it really wants to pretty darn well, with the exception of main healing. (but thats my personal opinion, dont take offence if you want to be a healing blue mage, I personally just dotn like the prospect)

One thing I would love to try out is WS > Chain Affinity> Mediatate > Burst Afinity. And then have most the TP to start a normal skillchian when all is said and done.

To me, it sounds great for a blue mage that would like to attribute more group-interactive abilities together as part of his/her job class.

            Re: Blue Mage issues

Indeed, /sam does have many openings at later lvls. To come abck to blu issues, whats everyone's thoughts about our resists? are they based on us missing? (lack of dex) On us getting some kind of magic resist? (lack of int) Heck, maybe its based on CHR? (since all our abilities are based on how well we imitate a mob's attack, maybe its a kind of performance, and then CHR would be important?)

            Let loose your imaginations =)
